'Babe, calm down. Is your mum home?'
'No, they're staying in the city.'
'Call your mum and tell her, I'll come over now.'
'But-'
'I don't care, we're not breaking up and I'm not having my boyfriend blackmailed because some jealous girl or guy doesn't like us.'
'No, they obviously know where I live and they could be watching so just stay at your place, I'll lock the doors and call my mum.' I said locking the window and closing the blinds.
'Babe, you're not going to be able to sleep. What if I come and get you, you shouldn't be staying alone. I'll talk to my dad, explain.'
'Eric, that's just going to give this guy what he wants if we have to start telling people about what we are.'
'I don't care, lets be honest we haven't really been overly secret about it, so let me come and get you. Please.' I heard a russling in the trees and my heart raced.
'Okay, ple-please be quick, I think they're still here watching me.'
'I'll be there in like ten minutes, don't open the doors and stay on the phone with me.' I moved quickly and got my schoolbag ready, along with a small bag of clothes and things.
'Papa, I need to talk with you.' I heard Eric say on the other side of the line.
'Ricky, what is it my boy?'
'Papa, I know you don't like us out on school nights late or people over but...'
'What's wrong my boy?'
'Papa I...' My heart hurt at what he was doing for me, he was telling his father about us. 'Papa I love John.' He blurted out and there was silence for a moment before he started chuckling.
'Ricky, I know that.'
'What?'
'It's quite obvious my boy, you never bring anyone over until now and you don't stop talking about the boy, you also look at him like I looked at your mother at your age. It is very sweet.'
'Papa, can he please stay here for the night?' There was no laugh this time. 'I know the rules but papa, someone sent him envelopes of photos of us. It's weird and creepy and he's home alone because his parents are working. So please papa, can I go get him and bring him here? We're not out as a couple, he said there was a letter telling him that if he didn't break up with me it would go viral. Papa, it doesn't sound safe.'
'Alright, I understand, I will take you over there to get him. I'm not letting either of you stay there alone, tell him to pack his things and he can come here.'
'Thank you papa.' With that I heard some shuffling. 'Babe, we're coming to get you so have your stuff ready, don't answer the door until I'm there.'
'Okay, I'm sorry, that you had to tell your dad.'
'It's okay, I think he's pretty okay with it.' I took my things down to the door and paced while I waited for them. There was a knock at the door and I froze.
'It's me, babe let me in.' I felt relief flood me when I hear Eric's voice, I yanked the door open and he stepped inside, he pulled me to him and kissed the top of my head. 'Anything happen? Are you alright?'
'Yeah, just really creeped out.' I said picking up my school bag while he took my other bag. I locked the door and we walked over to his dad's car.
'Thank you very much Mr. Rynstone, I'm so sorry for the trouble.'
'It's alright son, are you alright?'
