"Was that one of the new kids?"

"Was that one of the new kids? I don't recognize him."

Joe became aware of Sara's presence again by her speaking from behind him,

"I think so? I don't recognize him either, but I guess we'll know if he's new if he has any of the same classes we have."

"Right! Class! I half forgot about those."

"...We are literally in school, Joe."

"I got distracted! You know I get distracted easily," He said defeatedly, "but we should go to class now, right?"

"Right. We have uh... math first, I think."

"To math we go then!"

"Ranmaru Kageyama, Anzu Kinashi, please come up to the front."

A short, white haired boy and a brightly coloured taller girl walked up to the front of the classroom.

They were the new kids.

They looked pretty nervous.

Joe, from his spot in the front row of desks, was able to get a good look at them.

"That's the boy from earlier, right?"

"Yeah! So his name Ranmaru, and that's Anzu... I wonder what they're like."

"The boy was kind of rude when you bumped into him this morning, right?"

"Yeah, but I can see why. He's probably a nice person, but it was like really early and he doesn't know me and I just kinda ran into him with no warning because I wasn't looking where I was going and-"

"Joe, you're rambling again."

"Ah, sorry..."

The white-haired boy, who Joe now knows is Ranmaru, seemed to be done introducing himself. He was going back to his seat, which wasn't very far from Joe and Sara's seats. They sat next to each other; their teacher wasn't very strict and it seemed that Joe worked better when he had someone to talk to.

"Jou Tazuna, can you be these new students' guide?"

Joe quickly turned to look at the teacher, "Of course I can!"

Ranmaru looked to see who was to be his 'guide', and of course it had to be none other than the guy who bumped into him that exact morning. Also the guy who he so rudely brushed off... he kinda felt bad for that, the dude seemed nice enough, but he should really watch where he's going.

Joe looked over at Ranmaru and Anzu and smiled widely at them, motioning for them to come closer to his and Sara's seats. The two new kids reluctantly walked over to Joe, who greeted them by putting out his hand, which Anzu shook. Sara greeted them with a small wave and returned to her math.
