Chapter 2: Familiar Summoning

Natsuki's POV

I darted up from my sleeping position. I'm excited as shit right now. I considered waking up Monika. I decided not to take the risk. I took a shower and got ready for the day. What Monika said last night really got me thinking, I'm excited to meet my familiar. I wonder who it is, and what they look like. When I was finished in the bathroom Monika was up, she passed me and went to get ready. The first thing were doing today is summon familiars. So I won't have to wait much longer. 

Once Monika was out we walked over to the summoning area, again, directions everywhere, so it was pretty easy. There was already a few other students there. Each one was excited as we are. Monika's eyes were sparkling with curiosity. Finally, after what seemed like hours the teacher walked into the room. "Everyone listen up! There will be no talking while someone is summoning. Am I clear?" The man said. The room was filled with yes' and nods. "Good, now let's get started." One by one people started to summon familiars. It's Monika's turn now. She chanted the spell and her familiar was summoned. Her familiar's coral pink cat ear flicked before she looked around and went over to Monika and began talking with her. Monika went back towards me. "Oh hi! I'm Sayori!" Her familiar said, shaking my hand. "It's nice to meet you, it's nice to be here, oh wow!" Sayori said looking around. "Nice to meet you too, I'm Natsuki." I responded. "Next," The teacher said. 

I walked up to the summoning circle. I suddenly lost all my confidence, what if I don't say the spell right? What if I don't even have a familiar? I exhaled. I can't think about that. Just have to do the thing. I double checked the spell to make sure I was correct. "Sanctotis Strixempra!" I said it right. I did it! Steam emitted from the summoning circle, just like what happened with everyone else. I could already tell my familiar is taller than me. When the steam stopped I felt myself become a tomato. My familiar is smoking hot! She elegantly walked over to me, her long purple hair flowing behind her as her cat ears rotated to even the slightest noise. "Nice to meet you, I'm Yuri." She said with a smile. I shook her hand. "I'm Natsuki... Nice to meet you too..." I stood in awe. She just keeps getter more beautiful the more I look at her! Me and Yuri walked back over to Monika and Sayori. Sayori gasped. "Yuri! I thought I'd have to come find youuuuu!" Sayori said latching on to her. Yuri giggled. "Likewise." Sayori's expression became blank. "What does that mean again?" She said letting go and latching back onto Monika, she blushed a little at Sayori's touch. "It means I thought the same." Yuri said explaining. "Oooh!" 

It was lunch time after everyone summoned a familiar. Much to the relief of both Yuri and Sayori, I mean, me and Monika were a little tired and hungry after summoning but I can't imagine their hunger and exhaustion. We were getting our lunches, before I noticed something. "Hey, where are Yuri and Sayori?" Monika looked around. Monika began to giggle and pointed over to the seafood section. While most familiars kept their cravings under control, and I'm sure ours could have done the same, our familiars decided to completely empty the seafood section. They met back up with us, plates stacked with all sorts of ocean, river, lake, and pond creatures. 

I wish I could say they didn't eat everything they had on their plates. "Are you sure you don't have a stomach ache?" I questioned for the third time after watching a seemingly delicate and calm girl eat an entire school of fish. "Mhm." Yuri said smiling. "Hello again ladies," Ezekiel said sitting down, this time beside Yuri. "Damn hon your gifted." He said eyeing Yuri's chest. I slammed my hands on the table. "That's it! I'm strangling him!" I said lunging over the table and grabbing at his neck. Yuri got up and grabbed hold of me before I could. "He's not worth it." Yuri said softly, calming me down a bit. "Really, your gonna go for that flat-chested twat over me?" Ezekiel asked. Yuri let me go. "Never mind. He's worth it!" She said lunging at him. I grabbed the collar of her shirt and held her back. "Monika, Sayori help please!" I said barely keeping her away from Ezekiel who is now frozen in fear.  They sat up and helped me pull Yuri back a bit. I let go of her shirt and wrapped my arms around her waist. She stopped, she didn't say anything, she didn't do anything. She just stopped. Her tail slowly swayed in-between my legs, and I swear I see her blushing. Sayori's cat ears perked up. "Oooh! I think I know what happened! Yuri has a crush on-" Yuri's hand cut Sayori off. "Don't," She said straightening herself. Ezekiel ran away a while ago. "So much for 'he isn't worth it' huh?" I teased. "I'm sorry.." She said looking away, blushing from embarrassment, her cat ears folding. I smiled and set my hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, next time I just might let you get to him." I said snickering. Yuri giggled a bit. 

I proudly busted open the door to mine and Monika's dorm. "Make yourselves at home." Monika said. "The one on the far left is mine, and the one on the far right is Natsuki's." She explained. "I wanna sleep next you you Moni!" Sayori said slamming herself down on the bed next to Monika's. "Moni?" Monika repeated, confused. "Yeah! That's my nickname for you!" Sayori said happily bouncing around. "I guess that means your sleeping in the bed next to mine." I said, I don't know why that's making me so flustered, its not like were sleeping in the same bed. "Yeah...." Yuri is flustered about it too. 

"We have the rest of the day to talk," Monika said thinking. "You and Yuri seemed to know each other, please tell me more." Monika said looking at Sayori. "Me and Yuri were roommates back in our realm! We became quick friends. She always got me out of trouble." Sayori looked over to me. "Your really lucky to have her as your familiar! You better treat her well!" She said pointing at me and setting her other hand on her hip. Yuri hid her face behind her hair. God she's adorable. 

Sayori spent most of the night telling us about her and Yuri's home realm. The final hour was getting everything set up. The lights are turned off and everyone is in bed. I feel so strange around Yuri. I noticed she looked about as flustered as I did today. What is happening to me....
