Natsuki's POV
____________________Yuri opened the door to our dorm. I had my arms crossed, and an infuriated look on my face. I knew something was wrong, but still, she promised she'd tell me. Yuri froze like a deer infront of headlights. "I woke up, four times in the middle of the night, and all of which, you were missing. What's up with you Yuri?" I asked. I am, genuinely worried. I mean, she's been out of it all day, and then she just up and leaves for the entire night? Yuri cleared her throat. "W- would you believe me if I said I was just going to the bathroom?" Yuri asked sheepishly. "Not one bit." I said narrowing my vision. Yuri sighed in defeat. "Yuri, tell me what's wrong, please? I trusted you enough to tell you my secrets, so please don't keep something that's obviously hurting you secret from me." Yuri's cat ears drooped, she inhaled. "I feel like, something is wrong, missing." She started. "So, I figured, if I were to just, lock myself in the computer lab, and, learn, about anything really, that somewhere along the lines, I'd find that missing piece." She explained, slowly leaning up against me in the process, she's clearly tired. I let go of her hands and wrapped my arms around her. "Natsuki, I'm sorry." Yuri mumbled into my ear, returning the embrace. "It's okay Yuri, just, go get some rest, and if you want, we can look for this missing piece together, okay?" I said begining to lead Yuri over to her bed. "Thank you." Yuri said laying down in her bed. I smiled and went back to sleep myself.
A few hours later I was awake again, but Monika is the one who had woken me up. "Hey, Yuri looks really tired, so we're just going to let her sleep a bit longer." She said whispering. I nodded and got out of bed. She looks so peaceful while she sleeps. Like the type of peaceful that makes you want to call someone precious and shower them with affection. Not that I was imagining doing those very specific things with her or anything-! But, back on track. She looks a lot less tense than normal. She must've been exhausted. I huffed, grabbing my school uniform and going to get ready for the day.
Around twenty minutes later, I was back out into main room of our dorm. Yuri had just gotten up, and it was visible, she was in a dazed state staring at the very fabric of our universe. It took her five minutes to notice me. When she did, she gave me a smile, she had slept in her school uniform. "Morning Natsuki." She said, waving. I smiled back sitting down on her bed by her. "Yuri, you have to promise me that you wont stay up that late again, okay?" I said, looking her in the eyes. She nodded. "I understand. I wont do it again, I promise." She confirmed. I sat up again, patting her head a few times. "Good! Now we gotta go to breakfast. Today's Friday, I wanna make the most of it." I said, already by the door. Yuri giggled, getting up herself and heading out the door with me. Monika and Sayori were waiting outside for us. Sayori grabbed hold of Monika's hand, rushing her to the cafeteria the second we were in sight.
Breakfast was normal, Ajax and Ezekiel did try and come over but Yuri scared them off. She then demanded I pat her head again which really contradicted the scary version of her she had put on mere seconds earlier. "Aww, Natsuki found Yuri's pet-pet spot!" Sayori said, watching me pet the purple haired cat girl. "Her what?" I asked, tilting my head. "A pet-pet spot is something that Sayori made up, it's just a place where you pet your familiar that puts them in a calm state of mind. Purring happens when you pet your familiar there as well." Yuri explained, leaning up against me. "But you aren't purring." I said, trying to figure it out a bit. "Nope! But she's trying really hard not to, look at her!" Sayori said, pointing out Yuri's concentrated expression. I giggled. "D'aw, you can purr Yuri, I don't mind." I said. Yuri looked up at me. "I know you three don't care but it's not just us three here, we're in public, hundreds of people are in this room." She said, sitting up straight once more. "Ohhh, that makes sense. Purring is seen as an act of total submission so I can understand why you wouldn't want to purr in public!" Sayori said, cheery as ever. Yuri hid her face in her arms, blushing intensely. Total submission huh?
The school day was as boring as ever, Dark Arts taught me school can make literally anything boring. Yuri and me went to the computer lab to discuss the whole missing piece thing after dinner. We talked about it for a while, and the more Yuri talked, the more it became evident to me. "You have a crush!" I blurted out. Yuri covered my mouth. "Ah-! Don't shout it out for the whole school to here!" She yelped. "You, think so?" She added, taking her hand off my mouth. I nodded. "For sure! From what I got out of that, you're very touch starved, and now that you've met someone you love, you noticed your own need for affection." I explained, a confident smile on my face. Yuri looked around, reflecting a bit. "Oh. That, makes sense actually. I suppose I am, crushing pretty hard then." Yuri admitted, she shrugged. Oh, this could be amazing, or really fucking bad for me. Either way, I helped Yuri out, so thats nice. I got out of my chair and sat up. "Alright, we should go get some rest then?" I asked. Yuri smiled, sitting up and nodding. "We shall." She said, leading me out of the room with a large grin on her face.
It's a new day! Saturday! I was able to sleep in, and wasn't required to wear my uniform. Yuri is wearing this beige turtleneck sweater that looks absolutely adorable on her. Sayori let out an awe struck gasp. "There's a school newspaper run by students themselves!" She said holding up the sarcred texts. Yuri grabbed the paper from Sayori in a kind maner. Begining to read through it. She froze up seeing an article. "Natsuki, come look at this please." She said, her voice a bit meek. I came over to examine the page and oh shit, this is bad.
