"No! I won't play for a segregated audience!" George was furious. Jackson, who helped getting us gigs, turned to me. "No way!" I sided with George. He was so frustrated, I could tell. I tried to relax him by massaging his shoulders. "It's just ridiculous at this point!" He whispered. "I know!" I couldn't agree more with him.
"Let me talk to him," I tried calm George down. I first went to Jackson to talk some sense into him, but as that did not seem to work, I told Brian what was happenning. A few minutes later Brian assured me he was fired.
I ran and told George, who was in the middle of the Rubber Soul album recordings. I didn't want to disturb him any more, so I went downtown to meet with Marianne again.
We met at her place this time, to avoid any paparazzi.
"You can't leave me hanging like that!" I greeted her with a big hug. "You have to explain!"
"Ally, I told you everything I know! But wait let's talk about this after they leave!" She whispered.
"Who are they?" I was so confused. I turned around and was stunned. Keith was shirtless with just some pants on and a beer on his hand.
"I didn't know Ally was coming..." He remarked.
I took in a deep breath, I could tell this was going to be an irritable afternoon. "Nice to see you! Well, I've got to go!" I didn't hesitate and exited that house as fast as I could.
I went home and cooked some dinner for everyone back at the studio. I brought the biggest basket that I could, filled with goodies I knew they all liked.
"This is for you two!" I handed George Martin and Brian each a cute little tupperware with a piece from my toad in the hole dish I cooked following George's mother's original recipe.
"Oh, thank you so much! You don't know what a good surprise it is for you to come and feed us every once in a while!" Mr. Martin gave me a sincere smile.
"It's a pleasure, having people appreciate my cooking every once in a while too!" I responded, delighted by his comment.
I left the rest of the tupperwares on the side. "These are for the guys! Well, I better go now!" I tried to leave, but George Martin insisted on staying.
"You can help the boys and me out. You are a musical artist after all!" He opened the door to the recording studio and let me in with him.
"Hey boys, Alice will be joining us tonight!" He announced everyone.
"Oh, I really don't want to intrude!" I felt guilty, maybe I would be too much of a distraction.
"If anything you'll inspire us!" Paul shouted and made me feel more welcomed. George gave me a sweet look and offered me to sit beside him. I kissed his cheek and he kissed my forehead back.
"I brought dinner. Toad in the hole!" I exclaimed.
"Oh wow! I used to have that back when I was kid!" George seemed excited. He ran to look for the food and once he found it he took a quick bite.
"This tastes too good! Kind of reminds me of my mothers..." He said and encouraged the rest to eat.
"Well, maybe thats because I called her and got her recipe!" I confessed. George smirked and couldn't help but peck my lips.
"Now, that's wifey material right there!" Ringo said. I was so over the moon with all of their compliments.
After a few minutes, they finished devouring my dish. I guess they really liked it!
"Why don't we work on the song you wrote about her, now that she's here..." John suggested.
He wrote another song about me? Isn't he just perfect?
They went back inside, picked up their instruments, set up the mics and began to sing,
"If I needed someone to love
You're the one that I'd be thinking of
If I needed someoneIf I had some more time to spend
Then I guess I'd be with you, my friend
If I needed someoneHad you come some other day then
It might not have been like this
But you see now I'm too much in love Carve your number on my wall and
Maybe you will get a call from me
If I needed someone
Ah, ah, ah, ah If I had some more time to spend
Then I guess I'd be with you, my friend
If I needed someone..."I interrupted him, grabbed his head and kissed him and he smiled while kissing me back.
"It's 12 o'clock boys! Time to go now!" George Martin intervened. We separated our lips, smiled at each other, grabbed hands and left the studio room.
"You have no idea how much I love you!" I kissed him all over the face. I couldn't hide my affection.
"I've got a meeting with Brian and the boys now!" George tried to stop me, but we both knew he loved it when I was this affectionate.
"Okay, okay. I don't want you to be late. I'll just stay here. I'll wait for you and then we can go home," I pinched his cheek and he licked my whole right side of my face.
"Hey!" I playfully punched him and he blew me a kiss on the air as he walked away.
I decided to go to the sitting area and read the newspaper. A whole load of bullcrap. After half an hour or so I went to a private room to sit and watch some TV. Before I did, I looked at the window. My gaze was invested on the beautiful night sky and the city lights. I was so interested that I didn't hear the door behind me open and close.
