Boscha had a nice life.

She had friends,  the captain spot on the Grudgby team, and overall everything was perfect.

Then the human came along, and everything started going wrong. First the human stole her friends, and then Amity stopped talking to her. But the final straw was that Grudgby match. Boscha won, sure, but that was only because she had caught the Rusty Smidge, not because she was better at the sport.

Her reputation had crumbled to pieces in the span of a Month, and it was that human's fault. Boscha hated her. She hated everything about this human, this inferior creature. So when she heard that the human would be leaving in a Month or two, she should've been happy.

But she wasn't. She was sad, although nobody could tell. Nobody could see her face, nor would they even bother looking at her. instead of bullying her like she'd assumed they'd do, they just treated her like a normal person. it wasn't bad, but she did miss when people would cheer for her like she was a Goddess, when people would flock over to her and keep her from getting to class, she even somehow missed the love letters she'd get every day. She always went to where the letters said to go, knowing what was going to happen, and dreading it greatly. But despite what you may believe, she didn't want to be harsh. Even then, she'd accidentally broken a lot of hearts.

So when after an uneventful week and a stern talking-to from her parents about how she almost lost to a human, she was surprised to find herself staring at the reason for this hell she had been recently subjected to. Since she no longer had power, and since everybody better than her was respecting them, she decided she might as well refer to the human by name. Luz Noceda. She thought she had hated Luz, but that obviously wasn't the case, considering the feeling of happiness she got every time Luz smiled, or laughed, or even talked. She didn't know what this was.

"could it be that I...? No, of course not!" Boscha thought to herself. "I'm not gay, that's a sin! I'm just admiring Luz's looks and nothing more."

Though she knew that was a lie, she kept telling herself that. She didn't want her parents to find out, she knew what they thought about LGBT people. She didn't want to conform to them, but she had to or else she'd risk getting another scar to add to the hundreds she already had on her back. Though no two scars looked the same, they all had the same kind of message. whether it be "dyke", "lesbo", or any other slur, if the slur existed, it had been carved into her back.

author's note: hahahaha, abuse

Boscha would need to ignore these feelings, or else she'd regret it later. but how could she when Luz was so beautiful? She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice that she was still staring at Luz. This wouldn't have been a problem, but Luz sat directly next to her.

"Boscha, are you okay?" Boscha stopped daydreaming to find Luz's face inches away from her own. She screamed in surprise and fell over. "oops. Sorry 'bout that." Luz said apologetically. "it's fine, I was just surprised." Boscha whispered back, her face somehow redder. she hoped nobody noticed.

Luz noticed.

"you're getting all red! Do you need sunscreen or something?" Luz questioned her. "After all, if it's sunscreen you need, I have some."

Boscha took a second to compose herself, (as much as she could sitting next to her crush, that is) and blushed a little. "no thanks, Luz, but I do appreciate your concern. Also, what is sunscreen?"

Luz screeched in surprise, which caught Boscha off-guard, but her weirdness was one of the qualities that Boscha liked about Luz. Luz wasn't afraid to let people know who she was, and Boscha wished she could be like that. But even if she wanted to, she didn't want to get beat by her parents. She always repressed her emotions further, and further, to where nobody could get to them. But somehow, Luz always managed to make them bubble back up. it was like Luz had the key to the person Boscha had long since locked away, and Boscha didn't know how to feel about that.

What she did know was that she had some sort of feeling towards Luz, and although she knew exactly what it was, she refused to admit it. She knows that Luz only views her as a friend.

"I will show you so many things. Come with me!" Luz yelled as she grabbed onto Boscha's arm. Boscha went from pink to red in a split second. "But Luz, school isn't over yet!" Boscha yelled back as she was pulled up the path to the owl house.

Boscha got thrown onto the couch as Luz went elsewhere, leaving Boscha alone with her thoughts. She thought about how she was in Luz's house, a thought which both thrilled her and scared her. What would her parents think when they heard that their daughter left class with a girl, even worse, a human, and then went to the house of the Isles' most wanted criminal? They sure wouldn't be happy, that much was obvious. Just when Boscha started thinking about all the horrible things that they'd do to her, Luz came back with some stuff. Boscha snapped out of her thoughts, paying attention to Luz now.

They went through a huge box full of Luz's things, the most interesting of which, according to Boscha, was a large doll clearly made by Luz herself. What confused Boscha about this doll is that it had pink hair and three eyes, so it apparently looked exactly like her. She turned to Luz, as if to ask for confirmation, and as Luz saw the doll, she screamed. Luz quickly grabbed the doll and hugged it tight. What Boscha failed to notice, however, was that the way Luz hugged the doll was like she was holding the love of her life.

Boscha left soon after and walked home. She had forgotten about her parents, and was just full of happiness. But as soon as she walked through her door, that happiness quickly faded. There in the living room sat both her parents, glaring at her. If looks could kill, Boscha would've been dead where she stood.

"where the hell were you?" her father growled in his deep and dreadful voice. Boscha mentally prepared to get beaten.

"I was at a friend's house." she replied snarkily, though clearly petrified.

"a friend? we were told that you left school with a human, and we don't make friends with humans." Her mother hissed before kneeing Boscha in the stomach.

Boscha coughed up blood, before a horrible stinging pain appeared upon her cheek. She opened her eyes, and found that she couldn't see out of one of them. She had felt a word being carved onto her face, though she was in too much pain to figure out what word it was. She screamed as she felt her arm bending backwards, until it could hold no longer and snapped like a twig. Her parents, satisfied, threw her outside, with a final goodbye of "we're disowning you, you failure." and with that, she was alone.

She crawled to the closest place she could get to, which was unfortunately Willow's house. As she banged her face into the door, since her legs were too screwed up to stand or walk. She hoped it would be anybody except her, but when Willow opened the door, she just said "never mind..." and tried to leave. But to her surprise, Willow picked her up and ran to the closest healer. Boscha tried to thank Willow, but her throat was so dry that she couldn't speak. Boscha began to fall in and out of consciousness as they got to the healers, until she ultimately passed out.
