"Hey, Natsuki?" Yuri mumbled sleepily. She was lying on the couch resting her head on Natsuki's side as the smaller girl was curled into a sleepy ball. It was a lazy Thursday evening after school and the literature club. The girls fully intended to go home, cook some dinner, and watch some anime once they got home...but as soon as they got home, they both lazily collapsed on the couch. Today was absolutely not going to be a productive day.
"Yes, Yuri?" Natsuki slurred, half-asleep.
"How long have we been together?"
"About a month now."
"That's what I thought," Yuri replied, sitting up. She reached her arms behind her head and stretched before asking with a tired smirk, "So...how come we haven't been on a date yet?"
"...Wait...we haven't?" Now it was Natsuki's turn to sit up, a sleepily bewildered look on her face.
"Well...we've had lunches at the park before," Yuri said, "but I think we've just been out and decided to eat lunch in the park. I don't think we've been on a real or established date before."
"I...can't believe I'd never noticed that..." Natsuki mumbled. "Not that it really matters to me or anything."
"I know, but I'd like to rectify that," Yuri smiled.
Natsuki cocked an eyebrow and smirked. "Well, well! Is timid Yuri asking me out on a date?"
"Maybe," Yuri grinned.
"Ugh, well, if you're gonna go through all that effort, I can't exactly turn you down," Natsuki chuckled, her slick expression still prominent.
"Well, then!" Yuri replied, slowly pushing Natsuki down on the couch. "I shall take you for a wonderful night out; the best you've ever had!" She wrapped her arms around Natsuki's torso and laid her head on her chest. "...but tomorrow. I don't know about you...but I don't feel like doing anything today."
"You said it," Natsuki slowly groaned, running her hands through Yuri's hair. "So, what are you thinking for tomorrow?"
"I don't know," Yuri shrugged, smirking. "You haven't even accepted yet, so what does it matter?"
"Oh, my god!" Natsuki playfully groaned. "Do I really need to verbally announce that I wanna go on a date with my girlfriend? Are you that dense?"
"...Maaaaaaaaaybe..."
"Ugh, fine!" Natsuki sat up and cleared her throat; she delicately held out her hand before pompously announcing, "Why, then yes, dearest Yuri! I would be simply delighted to accompany you on a romantic outing tomorrow evening!"
"Well then, milady, I can assure you that I will surprise you with the most delightful evening you have ever experienced! Rest assured that you will not be disappointed," Yuri replied in a similarly pompous tone, taking Natsuki's hand and lightly kissing the top of it.
"AKA, you have no idea what you wanna do tomorrow," Natsuki sneered.
"Not a clue," Yuri rolled her eyes, and both girls immediately busted out laughing. Once she calmed down a little, she added, "but honestly, I'll come up with something great for tomorrow; you won't be disappointed."
"Sounds great," Natsuki sighed, lying down on her back. She opened her arms and curled her fingers in a "come here" motion; Yuri giggled and snuggled into Natsuki's arms before they both fell asleep.
