I

The rain poured heavy outside. The streets were rendered empty, not highly unusual for the quite city. No customers for today, I suppose.

I stood by the front window of the cafe, gazing outside. The thunderstorm seemed endless. Maybe I'll get to go home early today? This outfit is itchy

The door opened; its bell chimed

... or maybe not.

I turn around and face the man. "𝑊𝑒𝑙𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟, 𝑁𝑦𝑎𝑎", I whisper as I bow politely. He is a tall man, shabby looking and sleep deprived but something about him is striking.

He grunts. "𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑎 𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑡 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡", I nod and lead the way. He sits down, hands in pockets, and looks up at me

"𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑚 𝑢𝑛ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒"

I look at him and smile,

"𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟"

"𝐼'𝑚 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔"

I stare at him and chuckle; quite blunt isn't he?

"𝑊𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑟𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑀𝑒𝑜𝑤-𝑀𝑒𝑜𝑤 𝑀𝑖𝑙𝑘𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑘𝑒? 𝑂𝑟 𝑝𝑒𝑟ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑠, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑈𝑤𝑢 𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑒?", I inquire as I pull out the menu and place it on the table. He shifts and glances over the menu, pointing at it, "𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠?"

I swoop down to see what he's pointing at. Oh, he smells like musk wood and fresh rain. How cozy.
"𝐴ℎ, 𝑎 𝑆𝑙𝑒𝑒𝑝𝑦 𝑆𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑒," I smile as I jot it down and bow. "𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑, 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟".

The time he was there went by reletively fast. He seemed pretty tired as he fell asleep with our two persians huddled in his lap.

How cute

As the closing hours came by, it still rained heavy outside. Ah, only if I'd brought an umbrella.

I decided to clean up the cafe and went back to change out of my black and white outfit. Couldn't they use better fabric for this?

Taking off that short European maid outfit was euphoric; as much as I liked this job, I hated that damn outfit

I quickly changed into my grey sweatshirt dress with black timberlands and hurried back out to check up on the customer.

I giggled at the sight. Cats had surrounded him as he was peacefully sleeping. I shooed them away and whispered gently,

"𝐸𝑥𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑚𝑒, 𝑆𝑖𝑟, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑓𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑜𝑜𝑛".
