"So... is it just us here?" Ranboo asks as he reads the attendance on the left panel.
"Yeah. Me, You, George and Sam" Fundy headcounts
"Who got the twitch channel again?" Sam questioned.
"George" Fundy answered as the mentioned male has shared his screen on the SMP discord, they were the only ones present at the moment.
After yesterday's events, Ranboo was the one who contacted the police and reported their friends' disappearance after George took the address from Dream's Mother to know where the male lived with Sapnap for a while. They have to juggle different responsibilities regarding streaming, living and finding their buddies. The fandoms are extremely suspicious of every media and tweets that the creators themselves started feeling pressure to keep up the secret, it's like they're all walking on thin ice.
Despite being the one who suggested a meeting, Phil was taken away by his wife to a date they've been planning since last week, something he can't cancel, not wanting to upset his other half. Eret fell asleep after a long, tedious stream. Along with the others who were busy distracting the fans and attending to real-life events such as school and work.
Which left Ranboo, George, Sam and Fundy in the call to discuss plans for the future when the twitch channel popped on George's recommendation. They thought that the four of them, placed in different areas of the planet, was enough to get the hackers conflicted about whether they should capture first so they all decided to watch it.
"So what are we waiting for?" Fundy asks them as he watches George's mouse clicker over the thumbnail.
"Wait I'm writing my will" Ranboo mumbles
"Wha-what?"
"We'll never know when we'll come back, can we even come back?" What Ranboo said made them realise what's about to happen and how it could affect their lives. Are we even able to come back complete and alive? George questioned himself, chewing on his bottom lip as he thought about what might happen after clicking on the Livestream.
"You know what? Good idea, let me pull out my notes." Sam agrees. Shuffles can be heard on their headset as Sam looked around his desk for a pen and a paper to write on. Fundy, feeling impatient spoke:
"George start the stream"
"No, wait—" Ranboo panics
"Chill guys, we're gonna wait long so you'll have the time to finish your fanfic" George states as he clicked on the twitch channel.
"How long to be exact? I have to decide whether I should tell my mom that—" Sam was cut off when Fundy suddenly chimed in with confusion in his voice.
"What the—"
They all paused as their screen simultaneously displayed a plain black canvas but now with the familiar smiling character painted in white placed in the middle, glitching like the ender pearl from the previous stream George has seen. But this one was different, the smile would turn into a sad expression with a tear trailing down from its eyes.
Like before, George waits as he hears his friends writing their wills down, he listens to their ramblings and the sound of a page turning, deciding it was better to focus on it than the impending doom soon to come for them. But it bores him, so his attention is brought back to his monitor, waiting patiently with bated breath, anxious for what is about to happen. He felt something paw on his socks, making him look down to see his furry companion looking up at him with puppy eyes.
"Not now, I'm sorry" He whispered to his dog who only whined at the decline of request. His heart broke at the noise so he reached down to pet her with both hands instead as an apology.
"When you said we're gonna wait, how long exactly?" Asks Fundy, George started inaudibly muttering under his breath before he answered.
"Probably... 5 minutes" Fundy hummed as an affirmative before silence crept into the call.
Until they started hearing static noises that at first were inaudible, he rolled his chair closer to his table before pushing the two sides of his headphones, trying to listen closely as it gradually got louder.
The static oddly sounded like someone talking with its rising and falling tone, the pauses and the duration of a particular note of the sound. But it was enough to make everyone panic.
"Oh my god, my will is not—"
"Will we... Home... Tom—Tommy?" A voice was suddenly heard above the noise that became temporarily muted. It didn't take that long for them to realize who just spoke but only Sam was the one who voiced everybody's thoughts.
"Tubbo?"
No one could say anything and just stared at their devices, completely gobsmacked. They were relieved the two teenagers were still alive but what about the others? Are they okay as well? Those questions were answered when another voice came through the static.
"It's... good to have... Dream" A voice similar to Wilbur said, sounding relieved.
The white noise then came back to the minimal volume it was before the voices. George had his hands in his hair as he stared at his monitor with wide eyes, his mouth open and shaped like an 'o'. He tried to speak but can't seem to find any words to say. He could tell everyone too is still processing what just happened with the deafening silence within the call.
George could almost cry just hearing that his friends are together, they could look for each other's back and be safe. He was happy to find out that almost all of the people that disappeared are alive.
"They-they're alive..." Sam lets out, relieved.
But before anyone could even cheer, the static came back but now with more intensity that brought them tough headaches as the volume suddenly increased bombastically, shocking them. George threw his headphones away but his ears kept ringing as if it was manifesting the terrible headache forming.
"George! Close the tab!" Ranboo exclaimed but it fell on deaf ears, no one could hear him because all of them was hunched back, their hands cradling their head as searing pain stabs it repeatedly, their headphones now lay on the floor
And before he knew it, he blacked out from the pain.
-------
The first thing Ranboo saw once he opened his eyes was the cracked brick ceiling in pale yellow. The second thing he noticed was the soft cushion beneath him and the rich purple coloured covers placed neatly over him. He sat up and looked around to see himself surrounded by purple walls with peculiar patterns and white luminescent end rods stuck together placed on every corner of the room.
His heartbeat started picking up its pace, he didn't know where he was and the possibility of him being kidnapped and later getting gutted out made him panic. He looked down at his hands but they were free and dark, like coal-black dark something unusual. But before he could even try anything, the yellow door with purple lining was pushed open, and the person— or entity rather — that walked in scared the soul out of his body.
He let out a shriek, hands clutching the blanket and pulling it up above his head as if it can even protect him from harm. He just stared into its glowing red eyes.
I'm dead... Ranboo thought to himself. His life ends here, as he stared at the white covers that acted as the wall between him and the tall mob in front of him, waiting for his impending doom. But it never came, instead, it spoke.
"My prince, what seems to be the problem?"
