*32|| Calm Before the Storm

After the portal's discovery, everyone went to work, going on adventures at the break of dawn to find Dragons in the area only to come back at dusk with nothing. They thought it was a slow process so it was decided that it's better to group everyone up and deploy them all.

With Foolish being the keeper of the diamond minecart or 'Rich People Taxi' as he calls it, he was automatically the driver and member of the Blood God Pack which is composed of Schlatt, Karl, Quackity, Skeppy, Techno and You who shall head east.

The flight squad will be heading north, the group of Niki, Puffy, Sam, Phil, Tubbo and Sapnap who all could fly by themselves with no help needed except the pirate herself who would go with Niki on her broom. Tubbo only went with them because of Puffy insisting that they will need his nature powers for support.

And the Night squad with Dream, Bad George, Ponk, Eret and Fundy. Ponk was supposed to be with the flight squad but he's a nocturnal person, his powers made him extremely sluggish and sleepy in the morning. Bad will be with them so he could acquire more shadows.

Lastly, the Hermit Squad will be staying to fix the town and their defences. The three hermits left inside to mine and develop the city on their own. But they have nothing to worry about the shield going down, they're strong enough to take a few mobs down. If it gets tough then they'll bring out the big guy even if Mumbo doesn't like it.

Phil has told them to slay any dragons they see, take their scales and orbs, they are the materials needed to craft a stronger power source, the four elements in one item. That's what the system told him and that's what they're going to follow.

To make it exciting, Grian has proposed a plan, a competition rather and made everyone that will be fighting to agree to a prize pool. Five diamonds from each person or something near valuable to the gem and the group with the most items obtained will be getting all the treasure.

So everyone departs Cogchamp with the promise of coming back a little richer than the others.

Days went by with the Hermit boys refining every build and creating extra huts for the ones bunking with the others, one of those being you and Puffy who slept in Niki's cute cottage, before you could even build your own the girls had convinced you to stay with them.

The competition had a time limit which was only for a week. So on the last day and hour, the Hermits stood on the new and stronger walls of Cogchamp, waiting patiently for the others' arrival.

"Who do you think is gonna get more?" Grian asks his friends as he leaned towards the obsidian blocks placed on the side to act as the safety rails, looking at the sea.

"I firmly believe the saying 'the more, the merrier' so I root for Techno and his group. They also have the diamond minecart, the fastest form of transportation in this world." Mumbo responds, making Iskall scoff, attracting their attention.

"Have you ever heard the saying 'Speed is Key?' It'll be the flight squad." The cyborg told them as he leaned back on the safety rails, both hands on the edge of the block propping him steadily.

"Not to mention they also have Phil, who knows everything in this world..." Mumbo adds, voice decreasing in volume as he realizes, Grian nods as he looks back to the shore.

"Oh yeah," Iskall said, remembering the older male's unending knowledge. There was a beat of silence before the brunette in front of them turned his head back to them.

"But the Night squads are quick though because Dragons sleep at night and Fundy can just sniff out the direction to their nests." Grian reasoned, making them think of his reasoning over.

"Not to mention they have a god on their side because of George," Mumbo adds.

"Surely he won't ask DreamXD for kinds of stuff like that right?" Grian questions making everyone shrug.
