NCT One Shots

Johnny

Johnny looked outside the window and cursed. He was thinking, thinking hard about what he had done. This morning you two got into a beef over a piece of toast. Johnny wanted it fried and you had it toasted. You both shouted and bickered for a long time until you grabbed the car keys and left in anger for god-knows-where.

Johnny looked at the breakfast layed over the table. He cursed again and then sighed. He sat there for a long time staring at the food that had gone cold by now. Mustering up his strength, he got up and cleaned the table. He washed the dishes and tidied up the kitchen. Then he brewed a cup of coffee for himself and decided to watch something on the tv until he cooled down. He sat on the sofa on the lounge and started watching some random stuff, his eyes fixed on the screen but his mind absent. He was ruminanting about everything that you two faced in the last couple of days. He thought about all the fights and all the tension that had eventually built up between you two. Today was your special day and as Johnny woke up in the morning, he decided to make this day memorable for you but instead he ruined it. His eyes softened as your thoughts invaded his mind. He reached for his phone in his pocket and called you. He instantly frowned because you didn't pick. He tried for a few more times and then gave up thinking that you might need space.

He switched off the tv, gulped down his lukewarm coffee mindlessly and sank even more in the sofa. He wanted to make this day special for you so he calculated the time he had until you calmed down and returned home. He smiled as he realised he had plenty on his hand. You two always came home at night whenever one of you left after fighting. Johnny got up and went back to the kitchen to wash the cup he just emptied. He ran back upstairs and opened his laptop. He was on a holiday to celebrate your birthday but couldn't shake his head enough now for the turn of events. He still had time, plenty of it.

He scrolled through the list of bakeries in the town and after careful consideration, he clicked on one of them. He searched their site and settled down for a 'Black Forest' cake as it was your favourite. He added details, placed his order and paid through his card. Then he surfed the internet once again and noted something on his phone. He then switched the laptop off, dialed the number he just saved and put the phone on speaker.

"Hello! This is H&M decor. How may I help you?" the voice of the lady echoed in the room.

"Hello! Yes, I wanted to request for home decoration for tonight" Johnny replied.

The assistant asked for details and address and then ended the call. Johnny paid them online too from his phone and then started cleaning the house. Usually you two help each other but as you left, Johnny decided it was on him now to do it. He smiled and then started laughing at how messed up his life had become. He brushed all the thoughts away and started working again. The workers arrived after an hour and Johnny guided them about how he wanted his bedroom decorated. He then came downstairs to prepare lunch for himself and the workers. Whenever he had some renovation going on, he would always make sure the workers were comfortable and well-fed. This time was no different. He looked in the pantry and settled for pasta and sandwiches. He also made some lemonade. He brought the lunch upstairs to his bedroom and asked the workers to take some rest. Johnny looked around the room and looked satisfied with the work. After the workers finished and left, Johnny called up your favourite restaurant and booked a table. It was getting dark. He went to the bedroom and took a shower. He changed into something comfy for now. The cake arrived and he placed it in the middle of the bed among all the flowers. He came downstairs again to patiently wait for you.

He was thinking about you two, how you two met, how all these years you had spent together, how you two had known each other so well, and how strong you two have grown together. He couldn't stop smiling. Yes, you two fought sometimes but he cherished it because it always made your bond stronger than before. He checked the time. You could be returning any minute. Not long after, Johnny heard the front door open and close. He looked up from his phone and saw you looking back at him.

"Hey! We good?" Johnny smiled. You kept on staring at him wanting to punch him hard but resisted the idea. That's how much you loved him. Softly, you said, "Hey! I am tired"

Johnny smiled and said, "I know. Come here!" You plopped down on the sofa next to him. He hugged you and apologized for his rude behaviour. You did the same and you both burst out laughing thinking about how stupid you two sometimes acted. Johnny suggested to have dinner outside in a restaurant that he had secretly booked a table at. You agreed and said that you would take a shower and then get ready, so should Johnny. As you were going upstairs, Johnny followed behind. You opened the door and gasped. You heard Johnny saying 'Surprise!' and you screamed on top of your lungs without looking back, "Johnny! You idiot!" Johnny laughed like a madman and hugged you from behind. "Happy birthday, y/n" You smiled as you thought that no matter how hard your life becomes, no matter how many times you two fight, you both would always gravitate back towards each other. Slowly and gradually, you submerged in your thoughts deeper and deeper with smile on your lips and tears in your eyes while Johnny ranted about you two getting late.

I am finally back to writing a chapter. Johnny one's here now. I hope you all like it. Some of you suggested that I add more dialogues to my oneshots. I think oneshots are too short to be adding dialogues. I am thinking of developing each and every one of it into a full book, then I'll be adding more dialogues to it. If you still think I should change it then let me know. I'll try my best. Also, which member do you want next?
