Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Y/N pov

the boy walked over to me and sat down, pondering the situation. I was still wrecked and crying. the only family I had wasn't with me anymore. the world could certainly not get any get worse than it was now.

"Can I help you?" he softly spoke.

"how?" I whined and burst into another round of tears.

"Maybe write a letter. You know, to your family at home, and the ones in Hogwarts too." he looked at me, "so you still feel like you are together."

I took in a deep breath and got a piece of parchment and my special ink-free quill. It took a few tries to start, but I soon finished a letter to my Aunt and Uncle.

Hello Aunt Molly and Uncle Arthur,

I'm scared. I'm not with Ron, or Fred, or George. I feel alone and abandoned. I like the calming feeling of our common room though. The black lake only a wall away, and the velvet couches. It just doesn't feel like home. I miss the warm reds, the meadow and the garden gnomes. I also miss the pranks and telling you about muggle stuff that I have learned about. I don't think I belong here, in Slytherin. Not with all these ambitious witches and wizards. Can you please help me?

"Come on, you need sleep." Blaise stood up, offering me a hand. I took it, and he pulled me up to a standing position. We walked over to the dorm entrances in silence, then I mumbled goodnight as I slipped through the door. 

I crept over to my bed, then lay down, thinking of the day's events. After a while, my eyes couldn't stay open any longer and I fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up to a black bob shaking me awake.

"Come on, Y/N!" Pansy shook me harder, "First day of school! No bad reputations thank you very much!"

"Ok..." I sighed, sitting up. "Wait, School?!" I jumped out of bed and raced to the bathrooms to get changed into my grey skirt and white blouse. I ran back out to Pansy, much more awake than two minutes before. "Can you do my tie?"

the uniform had magically changed overnight, and my plain black tie was now a beautiful emerald and silver. The same thing happened with my robes, jumper, satchel, scarf and the little badge that used to say 'Hogwarts' now was branded with a green serpent, with 'Slytherin' written on the bottom. No matter how bad I felt last night, today was already so much better. 

"Done." Pansy looked me up and down. "Turn around."

I felt Pansy tug my H/L, H/C hair as she pinned my hair back with an emerald hairclip.

"Am I done now?" I turned back to face Pansy, who nodded and grabbed my hand and raced out of the dorm, to the common room and through the many winding corridors to the Grand Hall for breakfast.
