Overnight turned into a day, which turned into two, which turned into three, until "overnight" meant two weeks of constant observation. N'ijah was worried, thinking that she still might not be ok and all her and the hospital's efforts weren't good enough.

You're not good enough. If she dies, it's your fault, the voice at the back of her mind kept nagging at her, but this time around, N'ijah was determined to not let it get to her.

"You'll be able to take her home later today, Mrs. Ellison. Miss Richards is good to go. Just needs more rest." A doctor advised her, and a smile broke out onto her face.

"Ok so you'll be staying with me for the time being, until you can get into your old apartment and get all of your stuff back from your landlord. Or, if you're still not comfortable with that, I can get Lance to do it." N'ijah fussed over Desiré like a child when finally, the hospital discharged her. In comfortable silence, they drove to the Ellison residence. The 3 story all white mansion left many people in shock, and Desiré was one of them.

"I lucked up, huh?" Desiré whispered under her breath after N'ijah let her out of the car

"I lucked up, huh?" Desiré whispered under her breath after N'ijah let her out of the car. Taking her by the arm, Desiré happily let N'ijah take her inside of her temporary home.

...

"And this is all yours. Sorry if it's a little small, we haven't fully revamped the whole house yet." N'ijah said, finishing the tour of the house with Desiré's room.

"No, this

"No, this..this is perfect!" The other woman exclaimed, and gave N'ijah a warm hug.

"Well, I'll leave you to your own devices. Of you need anything, I'mma call away." N'ijah left the room, happy and content. She went to her office, while Desiré was looking around, with a malicious smirk on her face.
