Chapter 8

Jillian's P.O.V

The snowboarding mountain is much bigger than I thought it would be. And the wind is so cold and fierce. I swear it could knock me over. "You ready?" Asks Rocky, as we finally reach the top of the mountain. "Uh, yeah, yeah.. Ready," I say, although I have never been snowboarding before in my life. He gives me a small smile and starts sledding down the hill with Rydel, Riker, Ratliff, and my brother. I can't help myself but stare at Ross who stands a few feet away from me and Sam flipping his iPhone in the air and then catching it. He stares blankly into the distance, watching his siblings fool around at the bottom of the mountain. I wonder if he's upset about the break up with his girlfriend. I know if I broke up with someone I'd be pretty bumped out about the whole thing, but that's just me. Maybe he's the type that gets over things really quickly. Sam looks at me and blushes. "I think I'm going to talk to him," she whispers. "Okay, I'll come." "Okay." For some weird reason I start to feel real nervous as I get closer and closer to him. I don't know his personality, being as I just found out who he was today. The second we reach him, I know everything would be alright. He greets us with a friendly smile. "Hey," he says turning around to see us. "Hi. Uh. I'm such a huge fan of your music. And your band," goes Sam, her face starting to turn a bit pink. "Aw, thanks! I really appreciate that," he tells her, me still standing there speechless, lost of words. "Can I have a hug?" She asks all flirty and shy like. I silently laugh. "Absolutely!" He says, giving her the biggest hug ever. I wonder if he ever gets bored or annoyed by fans just taking pictures of him without asking, or asking for hugs without even talking to him first. "Um, this is my cousin Jillian," Sam informs him, motioning towards me. I notice his jaw drop slightly, and he smiles really big. "Hi.. I- I'm Ross.." He goes, and I notice he begins to act really shy. I blush slightly, but try to stop the minute I realize I am. "Hi. It's so nice to finally meet you in person," I say, giving a small, shy smile. I look down at my boots, then look back at his face. He's really adorable up close. He's cuter in person than in the pictures Sam showed me earlier. "You guys coming or what?!" yells someone from the bottom of the mountain. "Coming!!" Ross yells, placing his snowboard on the ground. The mountain is really steep.. I don't think I can do it. "You can go first," Sam tells me, handing me a board. "Wow, thanks," I mumble sarcastically as I sit down on the board that stands right on the near edge of the mountain. I look at Ross, hopping I could see what he's doing to get started so I could not kill myself on this thing. "You ever done this before?" he asks, making me bite my bottom lip. I was hoping no one would ask me that. "No. Not really," I respond, thankful for my long brown hair that covers my blushing face. He nods his head, and gets up of his board. "Mind if I go down with you?" he asks, kneeling down to see my face. I nod, "yeah... I guess... But how are we going to fit??" "I guess we'll find that out." I laugh and scoot myself to the back of the board so he could sit in front. I don't dare turn my head around to see Sam, because I know she'd either be wishing she was me right now, or laughing her ass off at the scene we're making. Ross turns his head around from the front of the snowboard to look at me. He smiles, "ready?" "Ready."
