I look for another bedroom on this floor, and without thinking much, storm into it. When I notice that it's indeed an unoccupied room, I sigh, walking toward the bed. I sit on it, thinking that I'll gladly sleep in any room even if it's small as long as I don't sleep with Luke.
Movement from the doorway startles me, and I turn my head toward it, only to find an elder woman in a maid uniform staring at me.
She looks like she's in her mid-40s.
"Mrs. Klein?" she asks. "Why are you in this room?"
I stare back at her. "I..." I falter. "I need a bedroom."
She looks at me with an understanding look and sighs, as if she already knows what's going on between me and Luke.
"Please follow me," she says. "I will have your room ready."
Hearing her say that makes hope surface in my heart, and I follow her. She leads me to a bigger room that has a king-size bed, its own walk-in closet and bathroom as well as huge windows overlooking the garden.
This room isn't as spacious as Luke's, and the back garden doesn't have any gerbera daisies like what I saw earlier, but still, this is such a nice room.
I turn to the woman. "Thank you," I say softly. "You are...?"
She smiles at my questioning look. "I'm Ms. Langston. I'm the housekeeper."
I nod at her answer.
"I will have your belongings moved here." She gives me another warm smile and is about to leave, but the concerned look on my face makes her halt. Sensing my worry, she says, "Don't worry. I will talk to him."
I'm stunned, watching as she leaves. I don't want her to get yelled by her boss, but judging by how she assured me just know, it doesn't look like she's going to have any trouble.
She might have been serving this family for a long time.
Sighing, I walk into the bathroom, finding the towels and bathrobe in place. The bathroom essentials are there too.
Great. At least, for now, I can take a bath first.

I spend the rest of the day resting in my new bedroom. They have moved my clothes and belongings here, and I'm thankful that Luke hasn't bothered me yet. He might think that I indeed need my nap.
When I look at the clock on the wall, I notice that it's almost dinner time. I wonder what Luke will do about this, but I guess that it's not that hard to figure out.
A knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts. "Mrs. Klein, the dinner is ready."
I walk toward the door and open it. Ms. Langston is standing before me.
"Your husband is waiting for you." She smiles.
I sigh and follow her. Although I'm still too irritated to face that cocky and bossy man, I'm terribly hungry. My stomach growls. When we arrive at the dining room, Luke is already at the table, with Aiden.
The boy's face brightens as soon as he sees me, a big smile creeping on his lips. That sight somehow brightens my mood too.
I smile softly at Aiden and take a seat beside him, who sits across Luke. Luke stays silent, looking like he's pissed because of our recent argument about sharing our bedroom, and I suddenly feel my anger building up again.
What does he expect? Does he expect me to just sleep with him after we get married?
I never told him that I would sleep with him as long as he helped me—it isn't a part of our agreement. He asked me to be his wife, not his slut.
