I'm sat in the common room waiting for my friends when I feel the soft leather sofa sink a bit. I look over and see Draco sat with a book on the other end.
"To be honest, I never thought of you as much of a reader", I confessed.
Draco looked up, surprised at my remark. "And why's that?", he scoffed.
"Well it's just," I struggled to find the right way to put it ,"reading is peaceful and you... not so much", I giggled.
"Are you denying me a right to read?", Draco asked with a playful yet sarcastic tone to his voice.
I flushed a rosy red. "Well no... just", I stuttered.
Draco looked amused at my failure to speak.
I heard a knock on the chamber door and checked the time, that must be Ron, Harry and Hermione. "Later loser", I said to Draco before leaving the common room.
"Your late", I huff as we walk down the grand staircase and out through the courtyard.
"Sorry your majesty", Ron says with a cheeky grin on his face.
I roll my eyes and link arms with Hermione as we walk ahead, we were going to Hogsmead to get a drink and meet the twins. We were celebrating passing all of our exams and the twins never passed up an excuse to drink. They weren't major exams but still why waste the occasion.
When we arrived at the Three Broomsticks we saw Fred and George waiting outside for us.
"Took you long enough", they both said.
We went into the pub and got a corner table by the window. We all ordered a round of drinks, then another and then another and by the time the fourth round came we were all drunk.
"Well this has been fun", I slurred, barely capable of getting a few words out.
Fred laughed at me as I tried to stand up but ended up falling back down again.
"Hey, don't laugh", I said which only caused him to laugh more.
I think he was the only one that wasn't completely pissed out of the whole group. He got up and walked over to me helping me out of my seat.
"Hey where's Hermione we can't leave her", I said looking at the table trying to find her. My head felt dizzy and my vision was blurry.
"She left an hour ago with Harry", Fred reassured me.
'AN HOUR' I thought slowly getting my conscience back. "What's the time?", I asked worrying about curfew.
"2:00 am", Fred chuckled.
"So your telling me that everyone else left and you decided to stay why?", I asked confused on why Fred hadn't just gone back to his dorm.
"I can't leave you alone at night, let alone drunk and at night.", he said. A surprised expression must have crossed my face because Fred said, "Surely that can't be that much of a surprise, me doing something nice?"
"No no it's not that... it's just I haven't really had anybody do nice things like that for me."
"Usually they just try and get me drunk", I confess.
Freds face turns into a frown as if he's getting protective. I look over and he looks away quickly hiding his expression from me.
After a while we made it back to Hogwarts.
The tricky part was getting in unnoticed.
