---------------------------
I woke up to my usual alarm, and just stared at the ceiling for a bit. I could not believe that I was starting my job today! I got out of my soft, comforting bed and decided to go take a shower just incase my hair was greasy. Since I've become a teenager, I've realized that one part that sucks is that your hair gets greasy so easily. Ugh.
After I got out of the shower, I brushed, dried, and straightened my hair. Then I put on some makeup, but not much. I don't want to show up to my first day of work looking tacky, plus I'm just not the type of person to put on a bunch of makeup every day. I went into my room and looked at the clock. It read 9:21. My shift started at 10, but the coffee shop was only about 5 minutes away walking, so I'll be good on time. After contemplating for a minute or so, I decided to go with a casual but cute look. I didn't want to overdress though, so I had to be careful. I went with a cute floral t-shirt, and jeans.
I grabbed my phone and my purse, and headed downstairs. I just grabbed a muffin so I would have plenty of time getting there. I walked out the door and immediately felt the cold air blanketing my body. I shivered, but started walking.
I got there with plenty of time like I wanted. It was a little place on the corner of a street, and in big letters on the front of the building it said, "Coffee Island". I walked in and the warmth helped my rosy cheeks quickly. A nice looking girl stood at the counter on her phone. She had long light brown hair, bright blue eyes, and even from behind the counter I could tell she was very tall. Maybe not super tall to some people, but to my 5'2 short self, she was. The girl reminded me a bit of Caitlin but her facial features were different.
"Hi! Are you Bri?" She said in a welcoming and kind tone.
"Um, yes. I am Bri" I responded, all of my nerves hitting me at once and making me a bit nervous.
"I'm Grace, and I will be teaching you about your new job. I'm also working almost all of the same shifts as you, so we will be seeing each other a lot."
"Oh! That's cool."
The first few hours of my shift consisted of Grace showing me how to work all of the machines and clean and stuff. After we were done with that, a few costumers came in and ordered a variety of coffee, saying that it was for an office party. It took a while, but we finally made all of them. The shop was not very busy, but Grace said that is usually pretty empty on Sundays.
Every once in a while, we would get a costumer or two, but not too many. We talked for a while, and just told each other about ourselves. I learned that she was a freshman in college, and she was from a small town in a few hours away from London. Also some other random things.
We were talking about our favorite food when I got a text from Harry asking if I wanted to meet him at the park just on the next block from here. I was about to text him and say that I was at my work shift, when I looked at the time and realized it was 2:55. I had been there for almost five hours! My shift ends at 3, so I texted him back and said I'll be there in 10 minutes. I had enough time to pack up and sign out of the system. I told Grace bye, and headed out.
When I got there, I saw Harry sitting on a bench. It was pretty easy to spot him since the park was almost empty. It was mid September, which in England meant basically Winter. It was very different from where I used to live. As I thought of Miami, I got a little sad. Right now there, it's probably sunny and 80 degrees. It hardly ever rained there, and when it did it only lasted a few hours. I suddenly snapped out of my trance when Harry waved at me. He looked so good with his beanie on. Oh, and those lips! Those pink, plump, NO STOP IT! I hate how I'm getting these thoughts about one of my best friends. It just isn't right! I walked over to him and sat down on the bench. He said that he was out taking a walk and was bored so that's why he texted you. You were telling him about your first day working at Coffee Island when his phone buzzed.
"Bri! Niall just texted me and asked if I wanted to come over to his house cause Louis, Zayn and Liam and there. Wanna come with me? I'm sure the boys wouldn't mind." Harry said.
I agreed and we started walking. Niall, Zayn, Louis, and Liam and some of Harry's best friends. We all hang out together a lot, so I've become quite fond to them. They're all so sweet and also will make you laugh so hard.
The walk to Niall's house is only about 10 minutes, so I was thankful I wouldn't have to suffer too much longer in this cold weather (Picture of his house on the side). Once we got there we were greeted with the smell of pizza. I wasn't suprised, these boys are always hungry. Especially Niall. You almost never see that guy without food in his hands. They were playing some video game. I'm not sure what it's called though, I've never been one to play video games. Although I will watch these crazy people play any day, they make it so entertaining. After a few hours of eating, watching them play video games, and us all having a tickle fight, everyone decided to go home since we had school the next day.
Happy Valentine's Day! And to celebrate, a longer chapter! I had nothing to do Wednesday cause we had school off, so I had plenty of time to write. Sorry I stopped it at such a weird spot. I just didn't really know what else to put lol. Thank you everyone for reading this book, I've put a lot of hard work into it and I'm happy people want to read it. Have an amazing day!
