The sun that illustrated the light blue room had woken up the girl who was in her slumber. Mirae, with her eyes still closed, stretched her arms. She looked around in her room as a habit and threw her arms back down.
Mirae felt a paper texture on her hands and lifted her arm up. It was a piece of paper. Mirae looked at the clock.
11:29pm
Mirae lifted the folded paper and read it.

dear mirae,
hey, it's been a while ☺︎︎
have you taken your medications? have you eaten your meals? were you discharged?
i hope it's all of the above!
you know, truthfully, i always had something on my mind (yeah it's you sTop gUESSing!)
from the first day I saw you to the latest day I saw you, you still were shining brighter and brighter each day. i watched as the corners of your mouth raise whenever you were with me.
i saw you laugh, smile, angry, upset, uneasy, sick, and especially ugly :) (i'm joking you're never ugly I LOVE YOUU)
to me, that was more than enough. if somebody told me today I would die, i would have little to no regrets because I got to saw you at your prime and down.
whether it be a thorny path or a path filled with roses, i'll always walk with you. we'll walk together, even if it means down the aisle.
in my mind I always told myself whenever you smiled, "i'm going to marry this woman one day"
then, we got into a car crash. (tragic)
after i woke up, the doctors and your parents told me you were in a coma. i hope you were dreaming about me.
when you woke up and didn't remember me, i've never felt so hurt in my entire life. but i do love myself a challenge! i decided to find a way for you and me to fall in love all over again.
there it was again, that smile. the smile in the mirae i knew. fuck, i was ready to get down on one knee right then and there. when you remembered me, a wave of emotions came into me.
all this time,
i had a heart disease.

maybe its because i loved you too much.
today, january 20, 2021, i'm getting a surgery at 10:00am in the hospital you were given care in. I walked into your room at 6am to hand you this letter. Like the Mirae I knew, you were dead asleep.
I kissed your forehead.
Though that kiss might be the last, I love you.
Until the sun and moon collide, I will run for you, stay with you, love you, care for you, and wait for you.
Seon Mirae, I will love you to the moon and back. I promise if I make it back alive, I will marry you.

Tears ran down Mirae's face. She ran out of her room and quickly grabbed a jacket, she opened the front door wide.
"Mirae what are you doing!" Was the last thing she heard before she ran off.
Quickly as her tears traced behind her, she ran as fast as she could. Her legs felt numb and weak but it didn't matter. She continuously wiped her tears and tried to calm herself down so she could breathe.
There it was, the hospital infront of her.
Mirae took a deep breath and ran in. Passing everybody and everything she ran toward the operation rooms. It read the name "Moon Hyungseo" on it.
Mirae cried and cried. "MOON HYUNGSEO!!"
Then,
beeping came from the heart monitors.
Mirae's eyes widened and she banged on the door repeatedly. "MOON HYUNGSEO YOU SAID YOU'LL STAY WITH ME!"
She fell on her knees with a whimper.
"I didn't even get to tell you how much I wanted to hold you... I couldn't tell you how much I missed you.." She whispered.
"I couldn't even tell you how much I loved you.." She whimpered while she cried.
