Life's different
I slid my hand across the soft leather of the couch and slowly opened my eyes, the room was slowly lighting up as the sun rose above the ocean horizon, the tv blared its blinding lights as the news switched to another ad, I sat up and stretched the feeling of each individual muscle stretching apart to its max energized my body. I shakily got up and cleaned up the bottles and wrappers that surrounded me, I walked up the stairs then the long hallway back to my room, I flopped onto my cold bed and the scent of the sheets overwhelmed my nose and made my mind wander.
I woke up to ash shaking me, "what?" I half heartedly asked, "SHE'S MAKING PANCAKES!" she grabbed my foot and dragged me off the bed. I sat down on the counter and tiredly looked over at my mother speeding around the large kitchen attending to each burner and cleaning, "ok... I think its time to eat" she looked around franticly almost half expecting to see something to clean up. We all sat down and began eating, the taste overwhelmed my mouth and relaxed me, "so what's the plan for today?" my mother looked at ash then me expectantly, "well, ash and I usually just spend most of the day in our rooms streaming, but tomorrow we are going out for sure" she almost looked disappointed with my answer, "you guys have pretty boring lives huh" ash and I looked at each other and laughed, "you wanna join in on the fun?" I evil grin spread across her face, one I only saw when ash was going to do something stupid, and in that moment, I immediately regretted what I said.
I had gotten a chair for my mother to sit next to me, and I was preparing the stream, testing audio, starting up twitch, "you see that?" I pointed to a small number next to a person icon, she nodded, "that's how many people are waiting to watch us, and that number will spike once I actually start streaming" the small number rose from 5,322 people all the way to 13,444 as I clicked the live button, "welcome everyone" I smiled as I looked over at the chat that was speeding faster than I could read.
It had been a few hours and we had just gotten our food we had ordered around an hour ago, "chat I will say it again, don't send me more spears!" my mother looked at me confused as I pointed to the corner of my room that had spear after spear covering it, she cringed at the sight.
The sky turned dark as I said goodbye to my stream and logged off, "so how much do you think we made today?" my mother sat back and thought I could see the gears turn and move in unison and then come to a grinding stop, "950?" she looked at me slightly confused I pulled up twitch and went onto daily earnings, I pointed to the number displayed on the screen, 6,423.90$, she rubbed her eyes a bit and took another look, "and that's daily?" she didn't take her eyes off the screen, "ready for dinner?" she kept looking at the number, "uh huh..."
