Chapter 6 Rose's First Steps

Kazuma's POV

I was in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone, including Darkness and Aqua, even though they weren't up to helping us make food. Megumin was in the living room playing with the kids, trying to teach them how to walk by themselves. She had Yuzama standing on his feet, and Rose was just watching them intently. Rose tried to stand up for herself, I watched as she stood up but then fell on her butt. She giggled about it while Megumin kept trying to get Yuzama to walk. "Okay, breakfast is ready." I said. I heard a grunt from Megumin as she lifted Yuzama and Rose into her arms. She set them in their highchairs while I put some scrambled eggs on a couple of small plates. I gave each of them their own plate before serving up mine and Megumin's. "So what shall we do today?" I asked.

"Well, I want to make sure that these two learn how to walk soon." Megumin said.

"They'll learn on their own time." I said.

"I know, but I think helping them learn how is important isn't it?" Megumin said. I nodded and took a bite of my eggs while Yuzama and Rose both were smashing their eggs with their hands. After we finished eating, I got to clean up Rose and Yuzama so I could take them to the bathroom so I could clean them. Once I took them to the bathroom, I closed the door quickly, so they didn't crawl out. "Alright you two bath time." I said. I heard a knock on the door before hearing it open. "Hey do you need any help in here?" Megumin asked.

"I should be fine, but if you want to come help, you can." I said. She came into the bathroom wearing almost nothing. "Umm you sure you want to only wear that?" I asked.

"You've seen me mostly naked before when we were a lot younger." Megumin said.

"True, but we were kids who knows what could happen now." I said.

"Honey, not right now the kids are in here." Megumin said. I sighed and nodded I grabbed Yuzama and started to wash him using a washcloth. "Is there any place we can take them to teach them how to walk?" Megumin asked as she washed Rose's hair. 

"Let's just keep teaching them here." I said finishing washing Yuzama. We took them out of the tub and dried them off before taking to the nursery to put them in a clean diaper and clothes. "Well let's play with them for a bit then put them down for a nap." I said. Megumin nodded in agreement. I palyed with Yuzama while Megumin was trying to get Rose to walk. The more they walked around the happier I was. Even with help Rose was doing such a great job walking with Megumin. I stood up and starting having Yuzama walked as well, after an hour or so of walking around both Yuzama and Rose were yawning. We took them to their room and laid them down for a nap. "Well we've got about an hour or so what shall we do?" Megumin asked. 

"How about we go relax in our bedroom?" I suggested. She nodded before grabbing my hand and dragging me to our room. Once we were inside we laid on the bed and talked about what we were going to teach the kids. "Well as far as we can tell Rose should learn archery since she has your luck stats, but Yuzama should learn magic." Megumin said.

"Yeah, but they should also learn some basics about the world." I said.

"Yeah, you're right well we'll have to enroll them in school at some point." Megumin said. I nodded and let out a yawn, I felt arms wrap around me as a kissed was placed on my cheek. "I know taking care of Rose and Yuzama is tiring but we should stay awake if they wake up soon." Megumin said. I nodded and closed my eyes trying my best to stay awake, I fell asleep with Megumin holding onto me. I woke up to someone knocking on our bedroom door, I opened my eyes to see Megumin sleeping next to me giving me a hug.

I gently moved out of her hug and headed to the door, I opened it to see Darkness holding a crying Rose. "I guess they woke up huh?" I asked. She nodded and heled Rose out for me to take, I took her from Darkness and gently bounced her. "There, there Rose daddy's here." I said patting her on the back. She stopped crying and looked at me. "Dada." She said. I smiled at her and nodded. "Yes, I'm dada. Shall we wake mommy up?" I asked.

"Mama?" Rose questioned. I nodded and took her over to the bed, I set Rose down next to Megumin and let her pat Megumin on the cheek. "Honey what are you doing?" Megumin asked. I watched as she opened her eyes to see Rose. "Rose sweetie what are you doing and where's your dad?" Megumin asked.

"Dada." Rose said looking up at me. Megumin turned to see me standing near the side of the bed. "What are you doing?" Megumin asked.

"Just letting our daughter wake her mom up." I said. She sighed and sat up Rose crawled over to Megumin and into her lap. "Come on let's go get you and your brother lunch." Megumin said. Rose giggled as Megumin picked her up passing her to me. Megumin headed to the kitchen while I went to the living with Rose. "Do you want to take your first steps today?" I asked Rose. When we entered the living room I heard Yuzama crying with Aqua trying to get him to stop. "Kazuma how do you get him to stop crying?" Aqua asked. I set Rose down in the play pen and took Yuzama from Aqua. "There, there dada's here now Yuzama." I said. He stopped crying letting me set him down in the play pen, as I set him down I saw Rose standing by herself. "Megumin get in here quick!" I yelled.

"What?" Megumin asked running into the living room.

"Look." I said pointing to Rose. I looked back to see her take a step forward then another. Me, Megumin and Aqua clapped about her taking steps.
