Chapter 10 Schooling From Darkness

Kazuma's POV

"Honey, Darkness is on her way over to teach the kids." I said. 

"Are you sure we can trust her to teach the kids?" Megumin asked.

"Of course, I mean she is a noble after all, so she has other basic skills." I said.

"I guess you're right." Megumin said. I walked over to her and hugged her waist. "Look, I think it's best if they learn some other skills then stuff we know, plus we can go out just the two of us." I said. 

"That would be nice, although will darkness be able to handle those two?" Megumin asked. 

"She's tough, and a fantastic teacher when she puts her mind to it." I said. 

"ok, you're right again. Now what should we do today?" Megumin asked. I shrugged and left to go check on Yuzama. I gently knocked on his door before opening it, I walked in to see Yuzama playing with a stuffed animal we had bought him a few weeks ago. "Hey buddy, do you want some breakfast?" I asked. He nodded and got up off the floor. He walked out of his room as I followed him to the kitchen. "Daddy!" Rose yelled. She jumped at me, I caught her and raised her to my height. "What are you doing, that was dangerous, sweetie?" I said. She smiled and hugged me. "Sorry, I wanted a hug." Rose said. 

"That's okay, but next time just tell me you want a hug." I said. She nodded as I set her down on the ground. We walked into the kitchen as Rose and Yuzama climbed into their chairs. "Okay you three, what do you want for breakfast?" I asked. "Pancakes!" Rose and Yuzama cheered. I looked at Megumin, who nodded in agreement with breakfast. "Ok, pancakes it is. I'll make some eggs too." I said. I started making breakfast, I made the pancake batter first before starting them, then I made the eggs while the pancakes cooked. Once breakfast was finished, I set everything on some plates, setting them on the table. "Okay, breakfast is ready." I said. Megumin set a pancake on Rose's and Yuzama's plate along with some eggs. "Alright, so me and daddy are going out today, but we have a friend coming over to teach you some skills." Megumin said.

"Can we come too?" Rose asked.

"I'm sorry sweetie, but me and mommy want to do a quest by ourselves today." I said. Rose looked at me sad before I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to the door opening it to see Darkness. "Hey, thanks for coming over." I said. 

"I'm happy you invited me to teach your children. I'll be sure to teach them everything I know!" Darkness said.

"Just don't teach them anything perverted." I said.

"I swear I won't teach them anything like that." Darkness said. I let her in and had her follow me to the kitchen. "Rose, Yuzama this is our friend Darkness. Will you say hi?" I asked. 

"Hi." Rose and Yuzama said.

"My you two have grown quite a bit since I last saw you." Darkness said. Once Rose and Yuzama were done eating, we cleaned them up before letting them loose to go play with Darkness. "Okay, we leave them in your capable hands, and remember nothing crazy." I said grabbing some of my equipment. Megumin grabbed her equipment as Rose, Yuzma, and Darkness waited for us by the door. "Alright you two be good for aunt Darkness ok?" Megumin said hugging and kissing both of them. I did the same before following Megumin out the door. We made our way to the guild and started looking through some of the quests. "Well seems like those frogs that we would kill when we were younger still seem to be a bit of an issue." I said. Megumin nodded and looked at other quests as well. There was one that was to slay a monster not too far outside of town that's been causing merchants trouble. "Well how about this one." I said pointing to the monster slaying one. 

"Sounds like fun, let's do it." Megumin said. We nodded and took it over to the receptionist. "We'll take this one." I said. 

"Finally time to start adventuring again?" The receptionist asked.

"Yeah, Darkness is watching our kids and teaching them some skills." Megumin said.

"Well, thank you for taking this quest almost no one has wanted to take it." The receptionist said.

"We're just happy there are quests we can do." I said. After we got the job we headed out to the edge of town and quickly found the monster, the fight we had last for a while since I wanted to take a quiet approach I shot it with arrows and drew it far enough away from town before Megumin started getting antsy. "Alright I think we're far enough away." I said. 

"Awesome!" Megumin cheered jumping out with her staff. She chanted her spell before she was ready to use it.

"Explosion!" Megumin shouted. The monster was engulfed in flames and fire while the explosion went off shaking the ground. We went to go check on the corpse and found only a few bones after the explosion. "Well I think that completes the quest." I said. Megumin nodded as she knelt on the ground. "Still takes it out of you huh?" I asked. She nodded and waved for me to get closer to her. I lifted her up in my arms and carried her back to town, we walked into the guild hall and reported the completion of our quest. "Thank you for reporting back, have a wonderful rest of the day." the receptionist said. We headed back home, we walked inside and heard someone running to us. "Mommy! Daddy! You're home!" Rose cheered. We smiled and hugged her. "Where's Yuzama and Darkness?" Megumin asked. 

"Asleep." Rose said. I let out a sigh and smiled at her. "Well, did you at least have fun with aunt Darkness today?" I asked. She nodded and smiled. "Let's get dinner started then." I said.
