As Alby helped the girl out the box, she slipped and fell back.
"Omg! Are you ok?" He asked really concerned. She was back in the box unconscious.
I killed her he thought.
Her eyes started to open gradually and Alby let out a sigh.
"Thank god." He said, "I thought you died."
"I'm still here." She said with a faint smile.
Alby could see she was trying to get a word out. She was mouthing things with a puzzled look on her face.
"Are..are you ok?" He asked
"Hazel." She said quietly, "Hazel." She said it again this time a bit louder. "HAZEL!" She shouted. "My names Hazel!" She said with a smile stretching across her pale face.
Alby came over and hugged her tight.
"Well then Hazel. Let's try to get out again." He said. She got up and walked over to where they were attempting the climb.
"On three, alright." Alby said "One, two, three!" Hazel flew out of the box and landed with a thump on the side.
She looked around the scenery in awe. Her face was dumbstruck as the acres of fields stared back at her. Towering walls surrounded them like an enclosed cage.
"What, what can you see?" Alby called up
"It's. It's beautiful." She said
Alby launched himself out of the box and sat down next to her. He looked around the sunlit meadow and his jaw hit the ground. None of them spoke for at least two minuets.
Hazel then noticed the boxes that they left in the metal crate. They were wooden boxes and some she noticed were barrels. However four distinctive letters were carved into every single one of them 'W.C.K.D' suddenly she remembered the last words she heard before ending up in the meal crate.
'Wicked is good.' Those three words played in her head, over and over again.
'Did wicked put us here? Why would they do that if they're good? What does W.C.K.D stand for?' All those questions played over in her head.
Alby realised what Hazel was staring at and tried to snap her out of her daze.
"How about we get those boxes out?" He asked her, pointing back into the crate. She nodded her head but was still quite confused. However she pushed those thoughts away and helped Alby unload the boxes.
He had to go back down seen as though Hazel was only small and it was difficult for her getting up the first time. As Alby lifted up the heavy boxes she could see the definition of rather large muscles under is navy crew neck. She noticed that Alby saw her looking and quickly turned away.
"What do you think those letters stand for?" Hazel asked pointing at the boxes, Alby hadn't realised them before she pointed them out.
"I don't know. Maybe the people that put us here?" he replied.
Hazel was unsure whether to ask him if he heard the last three words too. She decided against it and started lugging boxes to the fields.
After all the boxes were out they went on a walk around the fields trying to find signs of life. They couldn't find anything. All of a sudden, the heavens opened and a down pour gushed out of the sky. Alby and Hazel ran for cover in the trees laughing. As they took shelter in the dense foliage Alby spotted a wooden hut a bit further back. He left Hazel by a towering oak tree too dry off and went to check it out.
He didn't know what to expect inside, but what he didn't expect was a massive was a massive table with a carefully made sculpted of what looked like a maze. He walked in a little further and examined the sculpture.
"What did ya find?" Hazel asked popping up in the doorway. Alby leaped back as if he just saw a ghost.
"Holy crap Hazel, you scared the clunk out of me." he said gasping for air. Hazel laughed at him and walked in. She reached ahead of her and pulled on a light string. The bulb suddenly came to light and lit up the whole room.
"Well we have electricity." She said confused. She saw Alby towering of a sculpture of something and went to join him. They stood there concentrating on their own thoughts for a while. Nothing was really making sense to them at the moment.
They decide to wait out the rain and stay in the hut. They talked about a lot of things. Which was surprising considering they don't remember anything. However most were just unanswered questions, 'Why would they put us here? Was there anyone here before us? What should this place be called?'
After a few hours the rain was over so they left the hut and decided to move the boxes underneath the trees where they wouldn't get damaged. As they exited the woods the once green covered fields was now one big bog. It was all brown and muddy and you could hear the squelching as you walked across.
As they walked over to boxes Hazel noticed one single blade of grass sticking out of the ground. She called Ably over to look at it.
A blade of grass. She thought to herself
"A glade." Hazel said aloud, "That's what this should be called, The Glade." Alby didn't know what she was on about at first but caught on as he saw her looking around the now marshland.
"I like that, 'The Glade'. Has a nice ring to it." He replied with a smile on his face.
