Part Nine

It was 10:32 AM. Dixie was awakened by the smell of coffee , and birds chipping in the street. She looked up to see that her blinds were already up, and when she looked down she spotted Charli laying on her floor, scrolling through tiktok. Her mind immediately went to Noah as she saw her wrist covered up with Noah's red hoodie. It took her a second to process everything that had happened last night. She sighed, while rubbing her eyes. While thinking about Noah her butterflies in her stomach went crazy again. It was until now that she had noticed that everything he did gave her this feeling, it wasn't just an onetime thing. She giggled in herself thinking about it. 'good morning sleepy head' Charli chuckled at her, lifting her blanket and laying down next to her. Charli noticed that her eyes were red and puffy. 'Have you been crying dix?' She inquired. Dixie frowned at her and had shut her eyes again 'maybe, although I don't feel like talking about it', Charli nodded in response, tossing the blanket on the floor, leaving dixie in her hoodie. 'Why are you wearing Noah's hoodie?' Charli said with confusion in her eyes. Dixie felt her face getting red like a tomato, so she quickly stood up and headed for the shower. Charli chased her, 'just tell me dixie!, u guys are just friends right?' Dixie smiled underneath her hidden face, currently standing on Charli's bed. 'Yes, we are. I was cold yesterday and just forgot to give it back, plus, it's a nuggie thing, I bet I still have some of Curtis's hoodies in my drawer' Charli leaned on to her doorway, sarcastically looking at Dixie. 'Whatever, what are you doing today? 'Charli asked forcing Dixie off her bed. 'I don't know what I am doing today, boss' Dixie babbled while she walked past Charli. 'Ugh why are u like this, I hate you'. 'Bet you do!' Dixie yelled while closing the door of her room.

'Hey girls! Language!' Heidi screamed downstairs. Dixie made her bed and went downstairs, opening the fridge to see if there was something she could have for breakfast. Charli walked past her and showed Dixie the post mates order she got on her phone. Dixie giggled as she hided behind the fridge as her dad showed up in the kitchen. Their parents told them that they had to stop with ordering postmates that often, it was expensive and even though that did not matter, they always had food stocked up at home.

'Okay so me and dad are going to Malibu today, we have to pick something up from the beach house' Heidi spoke.

'Why don't you guys just stay the night there?, I mean with traffic it takes you so long to get there in the first place and then going back later, is just dumb' Charli said while sipping at her coffee, staring at the countertop.

Marc looked at Heidi, nodding. 'Yeah your right Charli, that would be better tho'. Dixie was clearly unbothered, trying to find her phone. 'Well I guess we're doing that than' Heidi answered while walking back into her room.

A couple hours past as Dixie and Charli we are home alone and participating on what they should do later that day. 'Let's invite the squad for a sleepover tonight' Charli mumbled under her breath. Dixie snapped her head to Charli and stared her in the eyes, looking confused. After 3 seconds she realizes that Charli didn't understand why she was looking at her like that. She quickly covered it up and was thinking about what Charli had just said. 'So?, are u going to answer me or sit even more clueless in front of me?' Charli asked. 'A sleepover?' Dixie mumbled, looking away from Charli and back to her phone. ' Uhm yes? Would that be weird then?'

'Oh no I just totally forgot we used to do that' Dixie said. Charli sighed as she took her phone, not knowing why Dixie was acting so weird. While Charli reached out to them, Dixie felt herself becoming slightly nervous. She tried to push away, but she couldn't lie to herself anymore, she knew damn well that it was because she was going to see him again.

Charli: hey guys! What plans do y'all have for tonight? Why don't you guys come over and we can have a sleepover over here, our parents are gone till tomorrow lol
