"Techno? Oh my god, Will! What happened?" Phil's worried voice rang through my head.
Techno summed up what happened into a few sentences, rushing me over to the couch Phil had been sitting on.
"Damn it, Will." Phil sounded mad, but a worried undertone could be heard. I heard Phil shuffle around quickly, probably getting the first aid things.
"Guys..?" A half-asleep Tommy opened his door, hearing all the commotion.
"Go back to your room Tommy!" Phil sounded stern. Tommy's door slammed shut seconds later.
Everything went dark again.
"Jeez, are you idiots trying to blind me?" My eyes slowly opened to be met with a blinding, bright light. My eyes adjusted a few seconds later, and I could see a worried Techno and Phil sitting on the other couch.
"Will!" Phil jumped up, running straight over, Techno close behind. "Just stay there, don't try to move too much." Phil noticed me wiggling around a little.
"Will... you had us worried there for a minute.." Techno's voice was laced with relief, but he acted like he didn't care.
"You worrying about me? Are you sure you didn't get shot with an arrow?" I jokingly said to Techno, laughing a little. I looked around, wondering how the kid was. "Is the kid alright?"
Phil nodded, looking toward Techno's dark, open room. I could hear a soft snoring coming from inside. "He only had a few scratches here and there, he was just pretty shaken up. Can't blame the kid." Phil looked back at me.
"I'm glad. So what exactly happened after I.. ya know.. blacked out."
"Techno carried ya home, the kid stayed close beside him. He doesn't wanna talk to either of us, but maybe after he wakes up he would be willing to talk to you, since you did save him." Phil explained, checking the bandages on my arm and leg in the process.
"You got any idea where he came from?" I've never really seen anyone around us, let alone a kid by himself.
"Nope. We're pretty much the only ones out here." Phil walked into the kitchen to get me some water.
He came back over and gave me the water. I drank it, knowing he probably put a potion in it to help me sleep since he knows I need it. Sure enough, my eyelids started to get heavy. I drifted off to sleep, still tired from the eventful night.
Wilbur... Wilbur.. Wilbur! Wilbur!!
The voice got louder and louder, all it said was my name. Everything was dark. Everything. I couldn't even see myself. I started to panic, my anxiety rising. It felt as if all I could hear was a harmonica being rapidly played.. but not really played. It was just like someone was blowing into it quickly with short bursts of air. The noise got louder and louder, as did the voice calling my name. It sounded like someone having a panic attack. The volume kept rising, my ears starting to hurt. Everything stopped. It was silent. There was a slight ringing in my head from the noise, but it faded away.
"Wilbur." A soft voice spoke, as soft as a ball of cotton. "Wilbur, look at me." I spun around, everything still dark.
"Where are you?" My hoarse sounding voice rung out, laced with anxiety.
Everything started to gradually turn a pale red, like something out of a horror movie.
"Don't fight it Wilbur, just don't think about it."
I closed my eyes, my mind going blank. Reopening my eyes, everything was now a cream color. I turned, a hint of red catching my eye.
"Is that... an explosion?" There was a frozen image of a red and orange burst, pieces of what were once TNT flying through the air. I noticed a half broken line of Redstone and followed it. At the end of it was a button, with a figure standing not far from it. The figure was me.
"Will! Wake up!" Phil was shaking me, trying to wake me up. I opened my eyes, confused.
"What happened...? I looked around, noticing some blood all over my hand.
"I dunno... I think you were dreaming and you started ripping at the bandage at your arm.." Phil trailed off, grabbing a soft cloth and cleaning the blood up.
After cleaning up from the mess, Phil allowed me to get up and walk around. My leg and arm were sore, but Phil did a pretty good job patching them up. We didn't speak of what happened again, and I'm glad of it.
"Is the kid awake yet..?" I stopped, staring toward Techno's room.
"Yea, he just wanted to stay in there. Techno was worn out from the night and didn't want to disturb the kid, so he went and slept in your room." Phil had begun making breakfast for us all. "And don't get worked up about him in your room. If it wasn't for him... let's just say you wouldn't be walking around." Phil added, seeing how I reacted to finding out Techno was in my room.
"Fine." I mumbled, still not happy about it. I walked over to the coffee table by the couch and, noticing my things were sitting there. The shield was laying there, in perfect condition. Guess the mending worked it's magic.
Before I knew it, Phil had already finished making breakfast. Tommy woke up around the same time Techno did, both looking like zombies as they walked over to the table. I joined them, hungry enough to eat rotten flesh.
We all ate pretty quickly, with no words being exchanged between each other. It was finally when Tommy finished eating that a word was spoken.
"So what the hell happened last night?" Tommy looked up at us. We knew he was going to ask sooner or later. Techno and I just glanced toward Phil, Phil letting out a sigh.
Phil thought for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to explain. Tommy still wasn't aware there was another kid his age in the house, and no one knew how he was going to react. "Tommy, Techno and Wilbur were out last night getting some things and they found a kid in the old mine."
Tommy froze at the mentioning of another kid. "A kid... like little kid?" Tommy tilted his head a little.
"No... a kid more like your age." I decided to join in, since I saw Phil struggling to think about how old the kid might be.
"My age.. I've never really met a kid my age." Tommy stared off, probably lost in thought.
We've always been pretty isolated out here. The only time any of us really go anywhere is when we explore or go to the store. I've been to the store with Phil a few times. There were others there, but not a lot. I've seen some odd looking folks there, but it's always the same 5 or 6 people we see. None of us ever really talk to them though, but Phil does sometimes. It has been years though. He doesn't let any of us go with him anymore.
Tommy was still just sitting there, silent. "Imma go try and talk to the kid I guess.." I stood up and grabbed another plate full of food, but not for me. I walked over to Techno's room carrying the plate with me. "Hey buddy, are you hungry?" I said as I walked into the door way, softly knocking on the open door.
Two bright, blue eyes looked straight at me, as if they were staring right into my soul.
"Hello..." The boy finally spoke, his voice almost like a whisper.
