A Siren's Love

Chapter One

"How much farther d'ya think we got? I'm starving."
Luka pats his brother on the back and shakes his head.
"You're too impatient, Ace. We've got about three more miles to go."
The two boys continued to walk through the woods until they came upon a pool at the end of the river.
"Mind if we take a break? If I don't take a dip the sun might cook me before we get to town." Luka nodded his head and took his brother's bag. "You go ahead. I'll set up a fire and make something to eat before we set off again."
Ace had already removed his shirt before Luka walked off to gather wood.
He swam to the deepest end of the pool and dunked his head under.
When he came back up, his eyes were met with those of a beautiful young woman.
"Oh.. Excuse me... I didn't realize there was already somebody here... I..." His voice trailed off as his eyes trailed down.
"That's alright." The girl smiled.
"I don't mind the company."
She swam closer to the point where he could smell her sweet breath.
"I'm... Uh..."
She reached forward and grabbed his hand. "Uh? That's a unique name."
Ace couldn't help but stare into her big golden eyes.
"It's.. Uh.."
She giggled and pulled him close to her so their chests were pressed against each other.
"You said that already."
The girl pressed her lips to his ear and whispered in her sweet, gentle voice.
"Follow me."
She pulled away, but kept hold of his hands as she swam further into the pool.
Ace's heart began to race as the beautiful girl held his face and passionately kissed him.
Before he could make sense of what was happening, she pulled him under the water to the very bottom.
The last thing Ace saw was her beautiful face become deformed as her jaw unhooked and her teeth grew sharp.
Luka watched in horror when he saw his brothers blood begin to spread at the surface of the water.
"The idiot..." He mumbled as he grabbed their bags and ran.
