Darkness began to travel elsewhere as the sun made it's way to the horizon, casting a pink-orange glow among the water.
A week had passed and Penelope has yet to eat anything, fearful of leaving Damara, who had made a remarkable recovery.
Because of her Siren blood, there was no trace left behind of the past weeks incident.
The girls had all taken their turn trying to convince Penelope into hunting, but each time she refused.
"Penelope, I really am alright to be on my own. I won't get into any trouble. Please, would you just go out for at the least one meal?"
Penelope's eyes were cold on Damara's worried smile.
"Please... I'm concerned about you, Penelope. If you starve, who will teach me to get better?"
Damara grabbed Penelope's hand and kissed her cheek.
"If it will make you happy. If Rhydia asks for me, tell her I will return before the moon rises."
Damara smiled and watched as Penelope made her way out of the cave.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••"Damara? Where'd Penelope go off to?" Marilee made her way to Damara's ledge.
"She's off hunting. Promised to be back before the moon rises."
Merilee smiled.
"It's about time."
