We walked up to the entrance of Owens house and he quickly ushered us inside. The house looked exactly the same inside as I had remembered with white walls, marble floors and a huge staircase in the middle of the entrance.

Just then Maggie walked into the entrance. She looked gorgeous in a tight white dress that hugged her body perfectly and her hair was flowing in perfect blonde curls.

She smiled at the sight of Owen, but once she noticed Bri and I her smile quickly turned into a frown.

"Owen! I've been looking all over for you, where have you been?" she finally said, ignoring both Bri and I, and putting her fake smile back on.

"I gave Celeste and her friend Bri a ride" he responded, coldly.

"Oh I see, I guess not everyone can afford a car these days" she said, snidely.

She then grabbed onto Owen's arm and quickly led him into another room. For some unknown reason I felt a small pang in my chest.

"I swear I might just have to punch that bitch" Bri said, making me laugh before I led her into the direction of the kitchen where Owen went.

As we entered the kitchen I saw Owen pulling his arm out of Maggie's grasp, earning him a frown from her. The kitchen was packed with people and the faint sound of music could be heard behind all the noise.

"I'm gonna go find us some drinks" I heard Bri say before walking away too quickly for me to ask to go with her.

Owen was by my side again, earning us a few stares and maybe even some whispers.

"So what do you think?" He asked me, leaning in closer to my face.

I felt my face getting warm.

"I think that maybe I should've stayed home" I told him, truthfully, earning me a laugh.

"It's okay you'll get used to it, wanna play beer pong or something?" He asked.

I didn't really feel like embarrassing myself right now so responded,

"Maybe in a little bit, Bri went to go get me a drink I should probably go find her" I told him, shouting a bit so he could hear me over all the noise.

"Okay sounds good, I'm just gonna go catch up with some friends. I'll come find you after" he told me, walking off into the direction of a few guys wearing football jerseys.

How original, I thought about their attire.

I made my way into the direction Bri had gone in and soon found her in the living room, two drinks in hand and a couple of guys around her.

"Celeste!" I heard her shout as I made my way over.

"I made some friends! This is Aaron-" she said, pointing to a guy with dark black hair, who I recognized was on the schools swim team.

"-and this is Joshua" she said pointing to the other boy she was chatting with. He had light brown hair and was sporting some very thickly rimmed glasses.

We all mumbled greetings to each other as I accepted my drink from Bri.

I let Bri do most of the talking while I took small sips of the beer she'd given me. I didn't mind the taste of beer, but I wasn't in the mood to get drunk tonight.

As Bri continued to socialize I found myself moving further away from the loud noise of the party and decided to wander around Owens house to get away from the crowd.

Is that creepy? I asked myself, but decided now was not the time for a morality check and continued on my way. Besides, if I got caught I could always just say that I was looking for the bathroom.
