A few hours had passed until Zachary returned.Nicholas and I sat on the bed talking the entire time. He shared some memories about when his brothers were sweet, and I shared memories about my home and my family.
It had never really hit me just how different kids grow up in the wizarding world. Here, they're taught magic, laughter, and joy, but in my world we're taught self-defense, sad memories, and war.
"What do you want your future to look like?" He asked out of the blue. I was leaning on the headboard and he was sitting a few feet in front of me, criss-cross.
"Well..." I said, trailing off. I've never really thought of it. "I think I want to stay here, and maybe open a bookstore, or help magical creatures." I replied hesitantly. I truly have no idea what path I want my future to look like.
"How about you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow toward Nicholas. He straightened his posture a bit, then replies. "I want to leave this world. I've always wanted to go to Paris and teach History." He replied quickly.
"I love Paris." I responded longingly. I had went once when I was about ten. I remember it vividly. My favorite memory was dancing around the eiffel tower with my mom and dad. It was almost midnight, but we wanted to stay up and make the most of our trip.
"Can you tell me about what it's like?" He asked. I remembered that with being in the wizarding world he dosen't have access to the media mine has. I nodded and patted the spot on the comforter next to me.
He crawled over and stationed himself inches away from me. "The city is so beautiful." I started, remembering the vacation like a dream. "The architecture is just spectacular. They have streets and streets of buildings that look like an ancient tale." I said.
As he listened to my words, Nicholas slowly drew his head down toward my legs, until eventually his head rested on my thighs. I could tell he was tired, but I didn't know how to handle the situation.
"Keep talking please, I love the sound of your voice..." He said quietly. I could hear the drowsiness in his words. I let out a brief sigh, mostly because I never expected to have Nicholas resting on me like he was.
"The eiffel tower is so tall. I remember when I went, I stared at it for an hour until my parents dragged me back to the hotel," I said with a small laugh. "The lights flickered like a movie. When you're watching it you don't even want to blink because you think you'll miss the fascination." I said longingly.
My hand drifted slowly to his head of hair. I don't know why, maybe it's because I always try to comfort. When my fingers tangled into his hair he turned toward me slightly, but since he was facing away I couldn't see his whole face, just one of his eyes.
"You're an amazing storyteller." He whispered. A few moments later he rested his head again. I couldn't help but smile. That truly was a compliment.
"There's so much to see and do, but their food is extraordinary. It's so rich and full of flavor you just want to eat until you can't anymore." I said with a laugh.
A few moments after my statement I could hear the light snores of Nicholas. He was asleep on my legs. I smiled and rested my head on the headboard, slowly closing my eyes. I didn't realize just how exhausted I had been.
I awoke to the sound of Zachary saying something, but I was in too deep of a sleep to register it.
I opened my eyes and looked around. The room was pitch black, aside from the distant lamp light. The sky was completely dark, and my lap was empty. Nicholas was sitting next to me, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
I turned toward Zachary, who was standing near the door. "What the hell were you two doing?" He asked, voice demanding. I let out a sigh. His voice was too obnoxiously loud to wake up to.
"I was telling a story then we fell asleep." I replied groggily. Zachary raised an eyebrow. "Why was his head on your lap?" He demanded. I closed my eyes for a few moments, allowing my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
I opened my eyes again. "I don't know, I think he was just tired, ok?" I said firmly. Nicholas remained quiet. Zachary looked from me to Nicholas, then motioned toward the door.
"You may take your leave, brother." Zachary said evenly. Nicholas slowly got out of the bed and walked toward the door. Zachary's eyes held his figure heavily.
Once Nicholas was gone and the door closed Zachary turned back toward me. "I can't believe this. I leave you two alone for three hours and this happens!" He exclaimed. I rubbed the bridge of my nose with my fingers.
"Look, nothing happened. But that doesn't even matter because we aren't anything." I replied in the same tone. He knitted his eyebrows together and tilted his head.
"We aren't anything? We didn't sleep together?" He questioned. I let out a huff of air. "That came out wrong." I said quietly. He ran his fingers through his hair with blankness.
In a few seconds he was at the side of the bed, his hand on my knee. He was reading me, trying to figure out if I was telling the truth or not.
"Am I really nothing of importance to you?" He asked, looking down at me. I turned my gaze away from him, looking at the door. I had no idea what he was to me.
"You do mean something, Zachary, I just don't know what." I responded. I could see out of the corner of my eye that he was nodding slowly, finally coming to somewhat of an understanding.
"I just need some time to think." I said quietly, getting up from the bed. His hand slid off my leg. I grabbed my backpack and walked toward the door. I stood at the doorway for a few seconds, unsure if I should truly leave or not.
I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door, then walked away. I turned back for just a moment to look at Zachary. His hand was resting on his forehead, making it seem like he thought he had done something wrong.
I wanted to say something, anything, but I didn't quite know what to say. I allowed the door to close behind me and I walked into the boys dormitory. All of them were sleeping, so I snuck down the stairs and into the common room.
Once I got into the common room, I passed by a sofa occupied by a guy and a girl. The guy was on the bottom of the couch, taking up the majority, and the girl was resting beside him, but mostly on top of his chest.
I stared for a second, wishing just for a moment I could have a normal relationship like that, with no jealous brothers. Having a life like that would be amazing.
I turned away and left the Slytherin common room and made my way down to the Ravenclaw common room. I was in a somewhat clouded mind.
I think Tom is, well, occupied. He's completely focused on building an army, and not much else. He barely even has time to exist at this point. Let alone be anything more than a captor to me.
Now don't even get me started on Adam.
Zachary is two-sided. Sometimes he hates me, sometimes he tolerates me. He can make me in awe at everything he does, or confused about everything he does. I don't know exactly what to think about him.
Nicholas is... Confused. I don't think he knows exactly what he wants. He likes me, somewhat, but I don't know if I want to go back to my world. I love the magic and things this place has to offer.

Sorry it's taken so long to get this chapter out! I just started school again, and I'm preparing for a job interview so it's been stressful ;o!
