potions class, Thursday Morning

"malfoy, snape. that is enough. you both will serve detention after school today."
that sentence hit me like a ton of bricks.
in potions class this morning, draco and i were arguing because he was picking on someone, and with how much he already pisses me off, i thought i'd defend her. but it turned into a fight. and now we have detention in this class, with my father. all evening. i'm gonna avada kedavra myself.
it's gonna be especially awkward after what just happened on tuesday.
it can't be that bad, we'll just be sitting in the classroom for a few hours.
"you seem down? don't tell me it's about draco.." luna asked, walking next to me at the end of the day.
"well, not exactly.." i began. "..i have detention with him this evening.." i admitted.
"how'd you manage to get that?" she asked, exasperated.
"we were arguing in potions, nothing too serious."
she paused.
"veronica...snape sends students to the forest for detention.."
i almost gasped.
"you're kidding.."
"no.. im serious."
this is so frustrating.
i went silent.
"okay..well..i guess i'll see you tomorrow then.." i trailed off, before turning the corner down the hall to my dorm.
luna said bye, and then headed towards her own dorm as well.
when i got back to my dorm, i rushed through my homework (most of it being for potions) and changed into a sweater.
snape had told us to arrive at sundown, so after the sun had began setting for a while, i made my way to the dungeons, hoping and praying that that's where we were serving detention.
i approached the dungeon door to snape's class room; and low and behold, it was locked and i could see through the cracks that the lights were off and nobody was there.
i sighed, and turned around.
when i showed up to the entrance of the forest, i saw hagrid and draco standing at the opening and talking. it didn't seem like friendly conversation.
"should've known you'd be here, since you've got nothing better to do." draco hissed at hagrid.
hagrid looked offended, but kept his cool and turned to me when i got closer to them.
"hello, veronica. here for detention?" he asked.
"yes."
"okay, well, snape informed me that you two will be here until nine thirty pm."
draco audibly scoffed.
