Mere's POV
Bright light. Bright light. Pretty color. Daddy. Scary person. Pain. Scream. Scream. Scream! "Mama!"
Mike's POV
I hate taking the kids to the doctors. I can't stand to watch them get their shots. It hurts me way more than it hurts them. I pull a screaming Mere closer to my chest, the set her down in her car seat. I then pull out of the parking lot. I drop the kids off at mom's before arriving at school five minutes before the last class of the day. Everyone points and stares at my cast. I blow it off as I walk to the only class me and Cass have together, English.
I walk into the class and am surprised to see that she is not there. She is normally the first person in a class. I wait patiently for her to show up, but it's not long before I realize she's not coming. It's a long class.
After class, I go out to the parking lot. Her car is still there, but she's not. I look around and see three police cars and an ambulance in front of the school. Fearing the worst, I run towards them. I can't see through the crowd, and everyone has their own tale of what happened. I stand in fear before Cass finally makes her way through the crowd. She sees me and smiles.
"Hey babe. What's up?" I sigh.
"What's going on?" She points back towards the crowd.
"That? Oh, apparently accusing your parent of child abuse is a big deal. I've been having to deal with that all day. They're taking Ash and her brother to the hospital for test to use as proof. Dad's going with them, and her brother's dad is coming down from Michigan. They don't want anyone else there, so I'm heading home. How did the kids' doctor appointment go?" I let out an aggravated groan, and she laughs. "That bad?" I nod as she climbs into her car. I kiss her forehead, then climb into the van to go pick up the kids.

Hannah's POV
I see the flashing lights through the window of my Spanish class. The whole class is gathering around trying to see what's going on. I don't really care. At least it's taken some attention away from me. Ever since Mike's come back to school, all anyone talks about is him and me.
There are rumors going around saying I'm pregnant. I deny them whenever possible. One of Mac's old girl friends started them. They say that's the only way we would ever get back together. And in a way, they're right. But I'm not gonna let them know that.
The teacher give up trying to once she realizes that no one is paying attention. Out of the corner of my eye, I see someone sit down next to me. I look up from my doodling to see Rosa smiling at me.
"Hey Rosa."
"Hey 'Anna. What are you drawing?" I push my picture of a lone lily in a sea of roses toward her.
She looks at it and smiles. "This is very good, 'Anna. You are muy artistica." The bell rings, and I stand up and gather all of my stuff. Rosa's giving me a ride home, so I follow her outside to her care taker's car. We climb in, and I am quickly home. I tell Rosa bye. She leaves right as Mike arrives."Hey, Sis. How are you felling today?"
"Crummy. Rumor going around the high school is that I'm pregnant."
"Well, it's not really a rumor if it's true." We walk up the front steps together.
"Wait. You didn't start spreading that around, did you?" He looks at me quizzically.
"Yea, 'cause I would totally tell the whole school you're pregnant. That would make since." He rolls his eyes, and I shake my head. We walk in the door, and he quickly runs over to his children. I watch as he picks each of them up and coos to them. I wonder if Mac's gonna be that good of a dad. I sigh. There is a good chance he won't be. However, I have to admit, he's holding up his end of the bargain pretty well. I haven't caught him or Kaden drunk or high all week, so who knows.

Kaden's POV
I ignore the fuss in front of the school as I walk out to my groups usual spot. I'm glad that I don't see any drugs or alcohol there, and I calmly walk up to Mac.
"Hey Big Mac."
"Hey KayKay. So, how's it going with your girl friend?" I sigh and shake my head as everyone leans in to listen to the latest gossip.
"For the last time, Mac, she's not my girl friend. We just used to be neighbors." Everyone laughs in disbelief. Finally, Nikki, one of the guy's girlfriend, changes the subject.
"So, Mac, is it true you only got back together with Hannah because she's pregnant?" My heart stops in my chest, and, no matter how badly I want to turn around and run away, I badly want to hear his answer. Mac takes a deep breath.
"No. If Hannah is pregnant, she hasn't told me. I'm pretty sure that her being pregnant is just a rumor started by some slutty bitch. I got back together with her because I realized that us breaking up was stupid and all my fault." The subject is dropped there, and I am glad.

Cassandra's POV
I lay Jace and Caitlin down for their afternoon nap just as I hear the front door open. I watch from the hallway as Mike and Hannah walk in. Hanah's shaking her head as Mike runs over to his kids and scoops them up. I hear Hannah sigh as Mike starts cooing at Mere. A small laugh escapes my mouth as I walk into the living room.
"So, where's Cass at?" He sighs and sets Mere back down in her car seat.
"At home. She's been talking to police all day about Ash. I told her to go ahead and head home and that I would pick up the kids." I nod and look my oldest son up and down. His right arm's still in a cast, and it seems to swallow him home. I sigh.
"You and Cass have both lost so much weight." Mike lets out a small laugh.
"Well, taking care of four to five infants at a time sure burns a lot of calories." I laugh, and a small smiles comes to Hannah's face.
"Good point. Well, you better be going. I suspect your fiance will be wanting to see her babies." Mike rolls his eyes, and I help him load the kids into the van. Then, he leaves.
