James Potter was ecstatic, to say the least. He finally had a date with the girl of his dreams. He paced around nervously in the Common Room, waiting for Lily Evans to come downstairs.

Lily Evans was nervous, to say the least. She fixed her skirt and looked in the mirror, and smiled at her reflection. She mumbled to herself, "It's okay, it's only James".

James Potter was mumbling under his breath, going through his plan for the date with Lily Evans, which was made in the very first year of being in Hogwarts. As he heard footsteps, he looked up, only to see Lily slowly walking down the stairs, already blushing. He looked at her, his eyes as bright as the stars, like she hung the moon for him.

Speaking of moon, Remus Lupin sat in the corner, amused at the scene playing out. He snuggled closer to Sirius Black, and shushed Peter Pettigrew as he started rambling about how excited he was for James.

Hours later, the overly excited Sirius Black felt restless. He knew how much Lily Evans meant to James Potter, but would it be one of the Marauders' date if nothing went wrong? He swaggered out the common room, ignoring Remus Lupin's grumbles and stopped only when he reached the Great Lake. He saw James and Lily, laughing at each other, looking extremely blissful. Quickly, he transformed into his animagus, and leapt on James.

James Potter grumbled, as soon as he recognized the shaggy black dog. Lily Evans, on the other hand, cooed at him, and scratched the dog's ears. James tried shooing him away, but was silenced by a rather shocked Lily, saying him to be nice. The dog let out a bark which unsurprisingly sounded like a laugh, and decided he had intervened enough, as James actually seemed dull. He licked James's face, who grimaced, and ran back to the castle.

Back in the castle, a few hours later, a happy couple strolled back in to their common room. Lily Evans thanked James Potter for the wonderful date, and leaned up to kiss his cheek. His neck started turning red, which she noticed, as she swayed back to the dormitory. James looked at her with a dopey grin, and when she reached the bottom of the staircase, turned around and winked at him.

Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew found James Potter the next day morning still at the same spot, spread out like a starfish, grinning like a madman in his sleep.
