Three days. That was all that was left until graduation. Three days until everything would change. Yachiyo didn't know if they were ready.
This group of the five of them was about to change. Akira and Michiru would be gone. They would no longer be edels. They would no longer be students of Siegfeld. They would be adults. Out in the world on their own.
It had already been decided a while back that Yachiyo was going to become the new Frau Platin. That was very intimidating to them. They would be the first Frau Platin to not be a girl. Some students didn't seem to like that at all. But, it wasn't like they could do anything about it. And they knew better than to say anything to them.
Yachiyo themself wasn't sure about it. But, everyone agreed they were the right choice. Yachiyo tried to say Mei Fan was a better choice, but the girl herself wasn't having any of it. Mei Fan shot that down and started listing so many different reasons why they were better for the role than her.
But, that honestly wasn't the hard part. The hard part was losing the normality. It wouldn't be the five of them. It would be the three of them and two new students. Yachiyo didn't like the prospect of having to choose the new edels. But, Mei Fan and Shiori could help with that much.
The one thing they couldn't help with would be the two third years leaving. To think that next year Yachiyo and Mei Fan would be third years was something too. Time had seemed to fly by. Yachiyo wished it hadn't.
They were sure Mei Fan and Shiori felt the same way. After all, Yachiyo wasn't the only one whose girlfriend was leaving the school. Those two were also losing Michiru from the school. At least they had a common thing they could relate to.
Thankfully, neither girl was going too far away. Michiru was going back home until she could find a job and then get a house near her work. Akira was tagging along with Michiru, seeing as she had nowhere to go. She was not welcome back home.
Akira already had a job lined up. She already found a theater company who wanted her to be an actor for them. So, she just needed to save up money to find a place. Michiru's parents were going to help both of them with the process and give them some money for it. They weren't completely on their own.
But they were still away from the school. It wasn't like they could see them as often now. Especially if they both had jobs. It would be hard to find a time to meet up. That was something all of them disliked. Oh how they wished they had all been the same age. It would have made this time a lot easier on them all.
But, dwelling on that type of stuff wouldn't do anything for them. They had to just deal with whatever came next. And that meant figuring out how to adapt to the change of losing the two senpais.
...
Two days. Two days left. The gnawing feeling in Yachiyo's stomach was worse. They were scared, as much as they hated to admit that. They were scared to lose the routine they had had for so long. Change was something Yachiyo never took well. And this was a major change.
"Yachiyo? You've been staring off into space for a while. Are you alright?"
Yachiyo jumped at the sudden voice. Mei Fan was beside them, a look of worry in her eyes. Out of all five of them, it was obvious Yachiyo was handling graduation the worst. And that made everyone start always worrying over them. Yachiyo hated that they had caused that reaction.
"Yachiyo? Hello?"
"Y-yes?" Yachiyo stammered, scolding themselves internally after the fact. That would just make her more worried. They needed to get their act together.
"I asked if you're alright." Mei Fan repeated.
"Oh. Yeah. I'm fine." Yachiyo lied.
Mei Fan gave them a doubtful look, "Are you sure? If you want to talk I'm here."
