"That's our plane. Let's go."
Before they knew it, it was time for break. School was over until the end of summer. They were going to China. And their plane had just arrived.
Mei Fan took Yachiyo by the hand and led them to the gate to be boarded onto the plane. Yachiyo had not ever really been in an airport before. It was a little overwhelming. There were a lot of people around and it was very loud.
Mei Fan was definitely more used to this. She had gone back home a lot throughout the school year. This was nothing for her. So, she had to help Yachiyo get around the place.
"You ready?" Mei Fan asked.
Yachiyo shrugged, "I'm a little nervous."
"It'll be okay. I'm right here if you have any concerns." Mei Fan replied.
"Thanks..."
It wasn't long before they were on the plane. They were lucky. It didn't seem their plane was going to be delayed at all. That was quite unusual.
...
"We're finally here." Mei Fan let out a sigh of relief.
"We are?" Yachiyo looked out the window. The airport was getting closer.
"Yep. We'll be off this plane in less than an hour." Mei Fan nodded.
"Good. I'm ready to be on solid ground again." Yachiyo sighed.
Mei Fan laughed, "I don't blame you. I'm ready as well."
"But now I'm nervous again..." Yachiyo mumbled, "I won't be able to understand anyone."
"Well... through writing you might be able to. The Chinese characters are pretty similar if not identical to the Kanji versions." Mei Fan said.
"But speaking wise I'm going to be totally lost..."
"I'm going to be your personal translator then." Mei Fan said, "I don't mind."
"Will you teach me some basic phrases?"
"Sure."
Yachiyo looked back out the window, "What is Shiori doing for the summer?"
"She's going to be staying with Fumi. Apparently the five girls managed to pitch in together and get a house already." Mei Fan replied, "I assume she'll be trying to hang out with Michiru as much as she can."
"How do you feel about being away from Michiru?"
"She said we'll talk once a week minimum." Mei Fan replied, "It's not that bad since I'll get to talk to her. How about you?"
"Akira doesn't know how often we can talk. She said the job is very hard right now since she has to get familiar with their ways." Yachiyo sighed and frowned, "She said it might be a while before we can talk consistently."
"Well, you're more than welcome to join in the calls with Michiru for now. I'm sure she'd answer questions about Akira if you asked."
"I wouldn't want to intrude."
"It's fine." Mei Fan stated, "Seriously. It's not like you haven't seen us being affectionate before."
"Are you sure?"
Yachiyo didn't want to take away the time between Mei Fan and Michiru. But, if she was really fine with it, then they guessed it was okay.
Mei Fan nodded, "I'm positive, Yachiyo. I don't want you to be alone."
Yachiyo frowned. They still felt like they were intruding a bit. But, if they wanted to know anything that was pretty much their only option.
Mei Fan grabbed Yachiyo's hands, "It's okay, Yachiyo. I'm gonna do everything I can to help you through this."
