Heat wove through Yunlan, starting in his chest and spreading all the way to the tips of his fingers and toes. His vampire had a gorgeous smile. And a gorgeous face. The man was gorgeous all over. And Yunlan would finally get to touch him.

"How do you want to do this?" Yunlan asked, hoping he didn't sound too eager. "We'll need to be close, and I'm too big to sit on your lap."

"You've definitely grown into a large man." Shen Wei intense gaze was nearly like a touch. "But I'm more than a little sturdy myself. I suspect I wouldn't have trouble supporting your weight."

"No, you probably wouldn't." Yunlan looked at Shen Wei's thick, muscular thighs in admiration, and he noticed something else. Something he desperately wanted. "But I'm also taller than you, so if I'm on your lap, you won't be able to reach my neck. At least not comfortably." He licked his lips and flicked his gaze away from Shen Wei's groin to his face. "Will I push it too far if I suggest we do this in bed? Purely for logistical reasons, of course."

The smile didn't fade and the intensity of the gaze didn't lessen. "Of course." Shen Weil stood and his leg brushed against Yunlan's.

He tipped his head back. "You mind if I take my boots and jeans off, Sal? Wouldn't want to get your bed dirty." Never mind the fact that he had been lying in that bed for the last couple of hours.

"You do whatever's most comfortable." Those blue eyes looked him over from head to toe. There was no way Shen Wei could have missed the arousal snaking across Yunlan's hip but rather than recoiling, he moved closer. "Do you need help?"

Yunlan pushed himself to his feet, deliberately brushing against Shen Wei as he rose. "I got it." They stood chest to chest, Yunlan's bare and Shen Wei covered in a dress shirt and vest. He stepped forward and to the side, dragging his bulge across Shen Wei's lower belly.

Pretending not to notice the quickening of his vampire's breath, Yunlan stepped out of his boots, pulled open his buckle, and shucked off his jeans and underwear . "Ready." He flipped around and faced his mate and walked to the bed.

Although Shen Wei remained still and silent, his body spoke volumes. Skin flushed, chest heaving, and eyes darting from one part of Yunlan's body to another, Shen Wei was the picture of arousal. And that didn't even account for the erection Yunlan had already noticed. Shen Wei wanted him. His mate wanted him. The boulder of rejection that had weighed Yunlan down since the day his mate had dismissed him all those years ago evaporated, and Yunlan breathed deeply and easily for the first time since he was fourteen years old.

He nodded. "You are immensely compelling, charming, and easy to be around. In business, we call that charisma." He reached for Yunlan's arm and, once again, gently traced his fingertips over Yunlan's veins. "I suspect your pack is extremely devoted to you."

"My pack is fractured and scared. That's why I had to stop leaving town. I need to be with them all the time, at least until they heal. Maybe after that too." The weight of his responsibilities began to press down on him. "No talking about my pack right now."

" What do you want to talk about ?

"Why you're still dressed."

"I really do appreciate your straight-forwardness." Shen Wei chuckled. "And I'm still dressed because you're naked, erect, and in bed. My brain short-circuited." He moved his palm from Yunlan's arm to his shoulder and down his chest. "You're beautiful." Dipping his face toward Yunlan's neck, he breathed in deeply. "And you smell delicious."
