<< You know that mom and I don't have a good bond. She works a lot, and doesn't have time for me. I appreciate the fact that she is basically working for her livings and mine's.. however.. you know it'll be nice if she could stop for a minute and ask me how I'm feeling, instead of yelling me orders. Even if we are not friends and talk at least five or ten minutes per year, I love her, and I can't believe that she was fooled twice >>
Yoo Joon kept eating and with his mouth full of noodles he asked:
<< What about your boyfriend? >>
<< Ex boyfriend >>
She corrected him, realising a deep sigh.
<< I broke up with him.. I just could not expect that he would let me go so harshly >>
Yoo Joon made a sad smile, meaning he was sorry for her.
<< Well.. you were the one who wanted to break up right? So who cares about that idiot. He could not understand your situation. You don't need him. You need someone like me >>
He said with an accent of superiority making Amy's left brow lift. Finally a sincere smile and laugh she has made. Seeing his best friend, and conclusively knowing that they will live together drew her up a better sight of life. Yoo Joon was basically his twin brother, they would have same thoughts and ideas -obviously with different shades, but mostly they would understand each other. In the last month, even if they had small occasions to interact, they would grasp their needs and necessities without justifying themselves on why they're not passing much time together.
After finishing eating, they directly went to the supermarket. It was very large and spacious with all kind of food. Amy was so surprised she began to wonder by herself. The two decided to separate as Yoo Joon had a way to contact her irregardless. While Amy was looking for some oatmeals, the ones she used to eat each morning in Canada, she saw a little boy standing in the side of that department and looking straight forward without blinking an eye.
At first she ignored him, thinking that maybe the kid was just looking at chucks. She began to read ingredients of some peanut butters which were near to oatmeals. When she put the container down the kid was still there and Amy had a little heart attack for she was shook. She stared at him for a while and wondered what he was doing, then she squatted down with her knees close to her chest.
<< Hey.. um what are you doing? >>
She asked in perfect Korean. The boy peered at her with shiny eyes, appearing like he was about to bump into tears.
<< I'm waiting for my brother >>
Amy frown her eyebrows feeling gloomy for him.
<< Where is he? >>
<< He said he was going to meet a person and I had to wait him here >>
Amy got up, and looked around her for a second. She stepped forward seeking other corridors, hoping that brother of kid would soon arrive.
<< Do you know his phone number? How long have you been here? >>
She asked all worried, going back towards him.
<< He changed his number recently.. so I don't know.. >>
<< What was his old number? I'll dial it >>
The kid dictated it, he did not know how much time passed since his brother left him in cereals department of the supermarket. Amy could not reach him.
<< He doesn't pick up.. did he say where he was going? What is he wearing right now? >>
He sniffed before answering for he was weeping.
<< He's wearing a black jacket.. his shoes were white.. I don't know.. >>
Amy sighed. Nervousness made her eyes wonder and move all way around researching for answers and when she heard the kid's voice calling her, she came back to her senses.
<< Miss! >>
He cried out with tears in his eyes.
<< Don't worry! I'm here! >>
Amy hugged him, she could feel how sorrowful he was and began to blame herself for she could not transmit further and additional anxiety to him. The hug was very warm full, it calmed down both of them, slowly the kid stopped breathing so heavily and sniffing all time. Amy delicately push herself over, to see the kid's face and ask his name.
<< Jihyun Sang-Hoon >>
She smiled.
<< What a nice name! And your brother's? >>
<<Jihyun Saeyoung >>
She thought for herself how irresponsible and egoistic could be leaving his younger brother alone in a giant mall. This Jihyun Saeyoung was probably on a date, minding his own business, not even worrying about his little sibling. Amy grabbed Sang-Hoon's hand.
<< Okay! We're going to the information section of the mall. We'll call out your brother >>
Her energetic accent was full of euphoria. Certainly she was excited about all the situation, but she wanted to reach as soon as possible. Plus, she was already prepared to humiliate his brother, as she could not tolerate such behaviour from him. She texted Yoo-Joon rapidly, for in one hand she was holding Sang-Hoon's and she was holding her phone with her non-dominant.
I'm busy right now, I'll call you immediately
Was what she thought she had written. Meanwhile, Yoo-Joon was in his paradise: a pack of four ramyuns in sale for only nine thousand fifty won, he was about to take the last pack remained until his phone vibrated. He hesitated, not knowing if taking immediately the ramyun or his phone. As his paranoid mind drove him to impossible and scary scenario he chose his phone.
I'm in danger right now, call immediately
The sender was Amy. He gasped of surprise, it seemed like the world stopped moving, when he was the only person who stopped moving. An elder lady was questioning him if she could take the last ramyun, as Yoo-Joon did not answer, she shrugged her shoulders and took it.
