Love and Power.
They say that a man doesnt fall in love with you rather he falls in love the image of himself that he sees in your eyes. That Its how to survive in a mans world. Its the secret to having power over him.
Isaac realized that he was a better version of himself around Elsie, that's what Elsie showed him. Not who he was but more so who he could be. She challenged him, pushed him to be more, made him dream big, she made him want to take life a little bit more seriously. All of a sudden Isaac wanted more from life. He started working harder at his workplace, waking up early and being among the first people to at the office, it wasn't long enough until the big man Mr. Brown the Manager saw his efforts, he gave him a promotion and made him his assistant. A few months later he was announced as the Employee of the year, a title that he had never held before - one that he thought only belonged to the chosen few, well those who worked hard enough and now he was one of them.
His colleagues couldn't help but notice the sudden change in him. He was no longer coming to work late, he never had any pending duties, furthermore he stopped going to the bar on the weekends.
Elsie was working her magic but as she did so, other ladies out there started eying him, some of his lady colleagues at work started to take an interest in him. Normally Isaac would dismiss their glances and their attempts to have a conversation with him. He was faithful to Elsie but this was only until when he met Sandra. Mr. Brown got a transfer to a different branch outside of town which meant that Isaac would become the new Manager while Sandra became his assistant.
They started spending more time together, mostly it was all about work until they got used to each other, he was overwhelmed by a sense of familiarity as if they knew each other, he found it so easy to talk to her, not only about work but also about other stuff, life related issues, he wanted to know her opinions on different things and since they spent a lot of time together they got to know more about each other. Sandra was single but she didnt mind the fact that Isaac had a lover. She liked his vibe and so did Isaac. They started getting close as they spent a lot of time together, little by little he got used to her presence.
Isaac was drawn to her wits and intelligence and more so to her beauty. She wanted the typical kind of girl you'd find in any office, she was smart and hardworking and always had a way to get things done fast and efficient.
Isaac found himself thinking of her frequently, drawn to her he always wanted to be around her. He would invite her out for lunch a couple of times where they would spend some quality time together.
Isaac was very thoughtful, always knew what she needed before she made her order, its the little things that Isaac did which made Sandra fall for him. Isaac was a good listener, he would pay attention to her, maintain eye contact as they talked and always had the right thing to say back.
Isaac knew that his attraction towards Sandra was more than physical, somehow deep and profound so he started avoiding her, he tried avoiding situations where they might run into each other or spend time together but this was an impossible task. Sandra being his assistant and them working in the same building every day, bumping into each other was inevitable.
He started feeling guilty about this, Sandra was sweet and he found it even harder to ignore her. He knew this was going to mess up his relationship with Elsie and sooner or later Elsie would realize that something was wrong for he was now drawn to another woman. Thinking about Sandra made him feel guilty, he didn't want her to assume that he hated her. But then he had to explain why the sudden change of heart.
Isaac.
After a while, I was compelled to reach out to her despite all logical sense. We decided to meet later that afternoon in the office to talk and finally be able to clear things out.
I explained how ever since I met her and got close to her I haven't stopped thinking of her, I told her of the strong attraction that I felt towards her and how all this was haunting me day and night because I wasn't able to open up to her. Why, because my heart belonged to another woman whom I loved so dearly. But hiding what I felt towards her was a battle. I told her that it wasn't my intention to push her away, Its only that I thought it was the right thing to do at the moment and was hoping that it would draw us apart and eventually all this feelings would fade away.
Sarah was stunned, she confessed to me how moved she was and admitted to having feelings for me. We were treading on fragile grounds.
The prospect of betrayal suddenly became so real, if we couldn't put off this fire then it would end up burning us both. A part of me had hoped that seeing Sarah and opening up to her would ruin everything and if at all I held her in my arms and kissed her it would turn out terrible.
"Whats wrong with me?" I should have asked myself so and snap out of whatever fantasy I had going on. But our chemistry was unimaginable. We embraced awkwardly. But funny enough that embrace was everything. We had never touched before and yet here she was in my arms, I wanted to stop but it felt so right. I felt the warmth of her golden skin and the smell of her hair was just beautiful. I couldn't put into words what I felt at that very moment, but I was burning inside. She pressed her beautiful trembling body against mine and my grip tightened. I simply couldn't let go. I felt her breath against my neck and I burned even more. For a moment that embrace was more than enough to assure me that I had brought down all my walls.
She lifted up her chin and faced me, when our lips touched my heart almost stopped. We kissed and that ignited the fire, just one more kiss and then I'll let go, fire, lust, sin, passion and we were gone.
