he cares

It was after breakfast the next day, Eren refused to talk about what Captain Levi's punishment was for sneaking out. Whatever it was left Eren in a sour mood throughout breakfast, he barely spoke even when Jean made jokes. 

Levi never came down to breakfast you assumed he was waiting for you in his office. You say your goodbye's to everyone in the cafeteria as if your going off to war and may never return. 

Outside of Levi's door, you straighten yourself up fixing your hair a little, and tucking in your shirt better to look presentable. 

you give a few confident taps on the thick wooden door and step back. 

"come in" you hear Levi call out from behind the door. You stop for a moment. 

that's odd he usually asks for name and business

you think to yourself before turning to knob, the cool metal chilled your hot hands. You open to door to see Levi sitting at his desk surrounded by paperwork. He doesn't look up at you, you close the door and salute him. You stand like that until Levi eventually looks up at you. 

"take a seat, cadet" he says his eyes instantly falling back down to the neat stack of papers before him. 

You sit down examining Levi's face. His brows were furrowed together, you watched as his eyes slowly scanned over the written of his work. A piece of his hair falls gently into his face. He moves his hand up slowly pushing the stray hair back into its place. 

Levi leans back in his chair looking up at you, he crosses his legs and tangles his fingers together before resting them in his lap. 

"not that it will change anything" Levi begins 

"your punishments have already been decided....but I must ask why did you sneak out last night" 

you sit there for a moment, you take a deep breath

"I couldn't sleep, sir. I like to take walks when I can't sleep. I didn't want to go alone" you tell your Captain

he doesn't say anything back you could tell he was studying your face. You could tell he was waiting for you to say more 

"we went to the field, and then decided to race back when you found us" you have nothing more to say so you just sit there waiting for your punishment 

Levi slowly stands you walking over to the other side of his desk. He leans against the front of his desk 

"Eren's story matches up with yours. I presume you two could've talked it over at breakfast" 

Levi then leans over inches from your face. You look into his dark smokey eyes, you move your eyes down to his lips, looking back at him quickly to make sure he takes notice. 

"give it to me, Captain" you whisper not breaking eye contact 

Levi's eyes widen at the sound of his title. You try not to smirk as his eyes fall to your neck before he looks off to the side. 

Levi leans back against the desk once more not looking at you 

"you're off missions until further notice" Levi then says. 

that condescending prick  

"w-what?" you stutter out 

"you need to learn there are consequences for your actions, l/n" Levi states still not looking at you 

you grit your teeth, your hands balling into fists in your lap. You stand to your feet pure rage filled your body. 

"fuck you, Ackerman!" you spat out anger was apparent in your voice 

Levi turns you, the look on his face changes from his usual emotionless look to something much more worrisome 

"oh, excuse my wording. I would never" you say in a tone of disgust you turn to the door storming out of the room before you were dismissed not caring if the punishment furthers due to your actions. 

You storm down the hall to your room busting through the door to see Connie and Sasha sitting on her bed. You throw yourself down on your own you could feel them staring at you but the anger radiating off of you into the room left them to not question what was up. 

As you sit there in your thoughts. You place your hand on your face letting out a sigh in distress Connie gets up looking over to Sasha before you hear him leave the room. You both sit there in silence 

Levi's took you off missions you wonder if he did the same to Eren. Sasha finally speaks up. 

"what happened, y

?" she asks 

you don't move from the position you're in 

"Levi took me off missions" you say quietly rage present in your voice 

"I wonder if he thinks you and Eren were screwing around" she then says you hear a bag of chips open

You sit up looking over at her "Eren told you what happened?" you question 

"he told us you were upset and so you to went on a walk, Levi caught you guys" 

"Levi's such a prick!" you yell

Sasha doesn't reply 

"he's just a sexually frustrated tiny man who thinks he can control us. It's infuriating how he thinks he can dominant everything we do" you say pushing yourself back down onto your bed

"he cares about you I think he just has a hard way of showing, it" Sasha says making her way to the door 

"hey maybe if you sleep with him he won't be so uptight" Sasha says with a grin before leaving 

you groan out in frustration kicking at the air as you left alone with your thoughts

he has an ignorant way of showing it 

you replay all Levi's actions in your head 

how he went out to find you when you snuck out with Eren

"you've really screwed around with everyone but me y/n"

you think of your argument in the cafeteria about how he stopped by your door after

the expressions he gives you 

you found yourself smiling you quickly wipe it off your face getting mad at yourself 

why are you sleeping with everyone?

you don't really have an answer you realize. At first, you knew you hurt by your breakup with Armin. You usually don't let people in, men disappointed you throughout your life. They don't care they see you as an object but you knew Armin was different so you let him in and just like that he was gone. 

You got close to Jean by chance, not wanting to date him even though you kinda knew he has feelings for you, you didn't want to get hurt again. 

you didn't have a good explanation for your actions that doesn't sound childish to you. 

You begin to realize none of the things you've done have actually helped anything they were all just a temporary release 

your thoughts made you tired so you slowly turn over falling to sleep
