Ian had felt the presence behind him but he didn't turn around, instead he got into his car and drove off.
He was leaving in secrete, to save himself and his biological daughter.
Ian had dropped his phone out the window and prayed he was doing the right thing.
"Where we going?" Heaven says from the back seat.
"To see mommy sweetie."
"Really?"
"Mhm." He reaches in her bag for Heaven's snacks but something pricks his thumb.
"Fuck."
"That's a bad word."
"Sorry sweetie." But he curses again when he pulls out the black rose.
"So you said your mom did this?" Laka says looking through her yearbook.
"Is this her?" Cole looks at the page nodding. He notices his and Drakes mom have the same last name.
"They are related." He mumbles. "Sisters."
"You think that means something?" She asks him and he shrugs.
"Maybe Ian knows. Did he tell you where he's going?"
"No. Just said he needed to get out of town."
"Okay thank you."
Ian grabs the burner phone from the glove department after he manages to stop safely.
"Ian where are you?"
"Highway twenty-eight. East."
"Look mom is trying to-"
"I know."
"Why though? What's wrong with her?"
"She's a sex slave Cole."
"For dad?"
"Yes. And Drakes dad too."
"Why didn't you stop it? If you knew?"
"I just found out yesterday when I went to see his ass in jail."
"What about you?" He glances at Heaven in the car seat who is now asleep.
"I have to go. Heaven can't raise herself now can she?"
"Okay I understand. I'll drop off a car to then." Cole hangs up relieved and not at the same time.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Janita offers.
"Yes sweetheart." He pecks my lips.
