The driver stomed off in a huff that no one seemed to be playing his game.

Very quickley from the corner of my eye Sally and the girl next to her crept up to the back of the bus without anyone noticing. everyone in the bus was sat frozen in shock. Looking forard to the freashley slumped body.

Minuites later I cold feel Luke shift beside me and move away. Taking that as my cue I followed up behide. Ahead of me I could see Luke dodging the dead bodys which littered the floor. The smell was horrid. Blood coated the floor and I had no option but to stand in it following Luke to the seats. It felt as though I was in a jungle somewhere in the rainforest trying not to wake sleeping snakes and anything else that was up there. A feeling of guilt crept into me as I silently stepped over the bodies of those whom I've out lived when they could be getting free instead of me. Or at least trying to get free.

I dropped myself down in the empty seat next to Luke and beside the girl Sally has tagged along. Somehow I felt exausted after the tiny walk of about eight steps to the back of the bus. Maybe because i havent moved for over seven hours or the death in the air was draining my energy. Only now I could see the small fire escape at the back of the bus. There was some writing on the window but i couldnt read it in the dark. There was a lever by the window which would swing the glass open into the night air.

Gently we all shifted down the seats towards the small glass door. Sally slwoly pulled the leaver and a creak ratteled through the but but no one stirred. Swinging the door open a burst of cold refreshing air hit me like a ton of bricks. The air was so freash and clean compared to the stuffy death sented air in the bus.

Jumping onto the snow the frezzing air got to my bones and snow flakes littered my hair and jaket straight away. The crunch of snow beneth my feet was the only thing that could be heard as we stood siletly fr a moment when the door was shut just taking in the calm.

"We need to run that way." Luke pointed down the dirt track whih the buus came down on. "And fast, we dont want to be seen." The short moment of calm was gone as everything got serious. We all turned on our heals looking down the long and lonley road that would hopefully take us home. Something made me want to get back on the bus, like this was a bad idea. But i had no chance as Sally took of running, the others in tale dragging me along with them.

Running was never my fortae when it came to fast movments, but this time I was litterally running to save my life. My ragged breath and Luke' heavy breathing mashed together and our foot prints were left in our wake. The wind was blowing my hair back from my face as the trees flashed by in a blur. It felt as though I was on top of the world, fastest person alive where as I was actually lagging behind. But the igniting high never wore of as I put one foot in front of the other and made my way forward. Sharp pains made their way up my sides as I got stiches from running so fast but I didnt stop. My heavy ee lid were blinking fast to keep the snowflakes from getting in my eyes and blockig my site of the road ahead. Warmth was spreading through me defeting the cold of the snow as I moved faster than I have before.

I watched everyone ahead of me turn down behind some trees out of site from the bus. Slowing down I followed them to find Sally's friend doubled over out of breath. It was peaceful around by the trees, tranquil. The peaceful silence consumed me, overtaking my sence. The snow was still falling fast around us, creating almost a blizzard. Tree's swayed in the wind and our hair blew around our faces. We hardly made it far from the bus but ran for ages, if we movd from behind these trees then they would be able to see us and we could see them. All four of us stood looking at each other in amazment. We made it away from the bus. But its only half of the battle. We still had to make it back to the town. Not get seen from the bus. It was far from over, it was only just starting.
