Once upon a time in a fourth-grade classroom not far away a young boy named Roman Prince was given an assignment. The assignment was to write a fairy tale. He was encouraged to use the classic cursed princess gets saved by a dashing Prince's kiss prompt, but there was another idea he couldn't get out of his head.
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful king and queen. They gave birth to a child. They were horrified at the sight of their firstborn son. Half of his face was covered in scales.
As years went on the cursed Prince couldn't even stand the sight of himself. He shut himself in his room refusing to speak to anyone.
Out of options the King and Queen seek out help from a wise warlock. He predicted true love would heal his pain.
Dozens of princesses and maidens tried to break the curse with a kiss. Every kiss only broke the cursed Prince's heart. The maidens expected him to turn into a beautiful prince, but were revolted at the sight they kissed a monster.
After years of pain, the cursed prince was now twenty-five and the royal family gave up hope. He locked himself high in his tower refusing to leave.
At last, after all this time the Queen and King got another offer, but this time from a prince. It was unorthodox, but they were willing to try anything at this point.
As the gallant prince was led to the tower he found the sad cursed prince surround by shattered mirrors. “This isn't what I expected.” The gallant prince said looking into the cursed prince's eyes.
The cursed prince was already prepared for heartbreak. “I don't see a curse. All I see is true beauty.” For the first time in years, the beautiful prince smiled. A year later he and the gallant prince got married in front of the entire kingdom. There was this huge cake the size of a table.
The end
Roman was advised by Logan to cut out three pages describing the cake. He reluctantly agreed and brought it to his teacher.
His teacher loved it, but since it was supposed to be a traditional fairy tale she wasn't allowed to feature the story in the book fair despite how much she liked it.
As Roman walked back to his seat clutching the notebook to his chest. It felt like he'd never find his prince.
“Okay class we have a new student named Janus Serpico," She said. A boy walked in looking down in hopes of his face not being seen.
“Ew look at his face.”
“He looks like a slimy snake.”
“I bet he's cursed.”The class exchanged shocked murmuring before being hushed by the teacher. The boy sat next to him Roman trying to avoid eye contact.
“I don't think it's a curse. I think it's true beauty.” Roman smiled trying to replicate the gallant prince. The new boy laughed, “You barely know me.” he smirked.
“Oh sorry was trying to be nice,” he said. It was more like he was trying to find another prince. He wasn't much like the prince in his story, but he was fun.
“It's fine. Wanna sit under the tree at recces?” He offered. “Yes!” Roman shouted drawing attention to the two. “Say it louder I don't think the people next door heard.” The boy smirked again.
Roman didn't care who heard he finally did the impossible turning a fairytale into reality.
