Aragorn POV:

Legolas has stayed with us at Rivendell much longer than I originally thought he would. It has now been almost 3 months since he had arrived. I have gotten much closer to him over the time that he has been here and now I find myself seeking his company more than Arwen's. Now and then I will look at him and shock myself by thinking about how beautiful he is. But eventually, he said he had to go back to the Woodland Realm.

As he said this I couldn't help but think what it would be like here without him around. It felt lonely and knowing that I would have to spend more time with Arwen was almost making me mad. I'm confused, wasn't in love with Arwen, the Girl I had known since I was young? As I watch him pack I can help but saying "I will go with you," he jumps and turns around startled.

"W-what did you say...?" he asks his bag in hand.

By now I was blushing and scolding myself for talking without thinking "I was wondering if I could accompany you on your way home. It is a long journey and-" but he cuts me off

"Yes, I-I would like you to accompany me home." Then we walked out the door and mounted our horses. As we rode out of Rivendell I couldn't help but look over at him. His hair was perfect in every way and his eyes seemed to sparkle the most beautiful blue. I silently scolded myself and looked straight ahead again. You are in love with Arwen, not some elf you have only known for a few months. He probably doesn't love you, even if you do love him - which you do not.

Aragorn POV:

By the time we have set up camp, it has gotten cold and I am wrapped up in my blanket. It was probably not the smartest choice to leave in the middle of winter. I didn't notice myself subconsciously shifting closer to Legolas's warmth until I was almost touching him. I blushed and turned away, starting to edge farther away from him, but it was too late. I could feel him looking at me and I blushed harder still. To try and make it less awkward I ask him a random question, the first one that comes to my mind,

"Is there anyone special you are looking forward to coming home to?" Naturally, it doesn't help. By now he is blushing, and my face has turned an even darker color of red.

"No... Well, I guess there is someone... But then I wouldn't exactly be going home to them." I looked over at him. He was staring at his blanket like he was willing it to cover him up without me noticing.

"You can leave it at that if you want," I say hurriedly, seeing how uncomfortable he is. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to," He looks relieved and goes back to staring at the fire.

Sorry the chapters are so short, I will try to make the next ones longer. I'm also sorry if there are any incorrect words, my rats are running all over the place and across my keyboard as I try to write this
