Periwinkle, Felix, Relle, and Laurelai all come with me back to the grotto, where Pan was, but when we get there, he's gone.
"No sign of him," Relle says. She pulls at her long, black hair and tied it into a long ponytail. "Do you think that this is a trap?"
"Probably, I mean. He was calling me here," I say.
Peri walks over to where Pan had been laying, and when she comes back, she says, "He was bleeding."
I briefly touch the ring in my pocket, and then I look back at my sister.
"He was?"
She nods. "A lot, too, it seems."
I walk over and look at the ground where Pan was resting when I was here earlier. Sure enough, there are signs of blood loss everywhere. And more than that, I see something shining on the ground under some leaves. I pick up a silver necklace with a locket as the pendant.
I hold it up for the others to see, and Peri looks at me with wide blue eyes.
"This is not good," she says. "Something tells me to not open it. It could suck us inside if we do."
"Yeah, let's not do that, then," I say, setting the necklace down on a rock.
Laurelai looks around us, her dark eyes shining in the sunlight. She looks at Relle, then Felix, who is here, but being unnaturally quiet. Peri paces next to me.
"What now?" she asks.
"Now, we make our choice," Felix says, speaking for the first time since we arrived here. "Do we stay here in Neverland, where there are people after us, or do we go somewhere else?"
"Like where?" I ask. "Where would be safe?"
"Technically, the human world poses the least amount of magical danger for us," says Laurelai.
"No, it wouldn't," says Peri. "Magick isn't dormant on earth anymore. Something woke it up, and now, things are going to spiral out of control. We need to stay here, and fight Pan."
"We'll lose," I say.
She smiles sadly. "At least we'll have tried."
