One day, as we sit in our cell and await our arrival wherever this mad prince is taking us, the door opens and a man stands there looking in at us like we are the most simple things in the world.

"You coming?" he asks.

"Where?" I ask.

"We don't have time," he says. "The Prince will be back any minute now."

"Where's my sister?" I ask him as Felix and I stand up and we start to walk.

"Your sister?" the man asks me.

"Yes, her name is Periwinkle, she's a Faerie, like me," I say.

We reach the other end of the ship and walk up the stairs, and then chaos ensues. Several pirates whirl on us, whipping out their swords, daggers, and knives. I see Zaine's Second, his right-hand man. Kylain, I believe his name is.

Kylain is a very tall and broad-shouldered man with dark brown skin and bright gray-blue eyes, and short, spiky brown hair. Kylain wears a gray tunic that is torn in the front, and the dark blue pants that he has tucked into his black boots holds a sheath for his sword.

A sword that he now has pointed at me and Felix, totally ignoring the man who's rescuing us.

Kylain then shoves his free hand in his pocket, and then he produces the box that contains Periwinkle. My heart leaps. Then he throws it into the water.

"No!" I scream, and I run forward, but Felix grabs me and twists hard, making him turn his back to Kylain. Then Felix's whole body jerks. I look down, and a horrified scream escapes my lips as I look down at the sword tip sticking out of his lower chest area.

Kylain ... stabbed Felix. He almost impaled me. I look at Felix, his hazel eyes wide, and then he falls to the deck. The man then leaps into action. Our rescuer runs forward and throws his hand up, and a wave of solid air hits Kylain, knocking him against the railing of the boat.

"Go," Felix says, his voice clipped. "Save Periwinkle."

I nod, and with tears in my eyes, I run to the side of the boat, and look down at the water. Then I look back at the men fighting our rescuer, then Felix. If I leave him, he will die. Someone can easily slash his throat while I jump overboard, and swim for Peri.

But if I don't go after her box....

"Tinkerbell, go," Felix says.

With one last look at my friend, and tears in my eyes, I leap forward, and flare my wings, then I land in the water, and I plunge deep into the icy waters.

I open my eyes, and the cold water stings my eyes, but I do not care, because right before me, drifting through the water, I see a girl. She has long, auburn hair, glowing blue eyes, and pale skin. I realize then that she has a long, slender tail that replaces her legs. She swims upwards, grabs my hand, and lifts me back up to the surface.

I gasp in deep breaths, and then look at the mermaid who found me. She holds up Peri's box, and then hands it to me. Shockingly, it is not wet.

"How did you ...?"

"How did I find you?" she says. "I found you because I've been following you since you left Neverland."

"Why?" I ask.

"It's a long story," she says. Then she looks up at the boats looming above us. Yes, there are two boats. Then the men in the ship to the left, the ones who are not pirates and (hopefully) do not wish me dead, lower a ladder into the water.

She latches onto the ropes and nods at me. "Come on," she says. "This is a good thing, trust me."

Once we both reach the top of the ladder, I see a familiar face. And as the one-handed pirate helps the mermaid onto the boat, I feel all my fear melt down to a tolerable amount.

"Hello, Captain Hook," I say.
