i sat in the back of the plane, picking at my nails as i could hear a welcome video play to which i ignored.

i looked up and started to inspect my surroundings.

a girl sat to the left of me, with a book in her hands reading it like it'd be her last time.

she had dark brown hair and blue eyes.
the seat in front of her was empty.

across from the empty seat, sat a girl with light brown curly hair.

to which, i later learned her name was nora.
in front of nora, sat toni and martha.

they were the only ones i knew, toni, martha and i went to the same school.
although we had no classes together, i had known a little about toni.

how she was on the basketball team and she was pretty good at it.

i had also heard how she threw her own pee at someone during a home game because they kept fouling her.

i was snapped back into reality when i noticed a blonde girl stand up from her seat.

" so in the interest of bringing us all together, i'd like to propose a little icebreaker. "

another girl stood up at this point, she had short black hair with bangs.

" ooh like never have i ever?"
" um that games a little much"

i rolled my eyes at this and turned to the window blocking out the two girls, as i watched the clouds.

a minute had passed, when suddenly i felt someone grab me from my seat.

it had been the blonde girl, she lead me to an empty seat where toni and another girl had been
seated already.
" well i'll just make a group of three here."

i sighed as i took a seat next to toni, i shifted in my seat uncomfortably.

toni realized that i had sat down next to her, to which she turned to me and started,
" hey, don't i know you from somewhere?"

" yea. school." i said blankly not really wanting engage in a conversation.

just then a flight attendant came around with cake. all three of us taking one.

"what's your problem?" she asked taking a bite of her cake.

"the problem is i'd rather be anywhere but here, this plane could nose dive into the fucking ocean and i wouldn't give two shits."

both girls were looking at me now shocked at how harsh i came off.

" shit. sorry for bothering, princess." toni mocked in a sarcastic tone.

i leaned back in my chair, rolling my eyes, looking out the window.

" well my name is rachel.." the other girl awkwardly said not wanting to bother anyone.

no one responded, making it awkwardly silent between the three of us.

" so you play basketball...?" rachel questioned toni.

toni quickly glanced down at her jersey she was wearing.

" yeah, i used to. i got cut from the team for unsportsmanlike conduct. this bitch from the other team kept fouling me, so i pissed in my hand and threw it at her." toni smiled almost like she was proud of herself.

" were you good? " rachel asked.

" hell yeah! i was a beast on the court. " toni replied.

this made rachel scoff " people who waste their talent get on my nerves. " she retaliated as she shook her head.

i rolled my eyes and shook my head. " god, could this get any worse?" i mumbled. i hated my parents for sending on this retreat.

all of a sudden, the plane started to shake and everyone started to look around, almost as if we were all trying to see if we felt the same thing.

as soon as this happened, toni got up and ran to martha wrapping her arms around her, rachel started to scarf down her piece of cake like she hadn't eaten in days.

my eyes frantically looking around at all the chaos.

" what. the. fuck." i whispered. i was terrified.

that's all i remember before everything went black.
