TW! Mention of self-harm
Text like this is her thoughts.
(Y/N) POV:

I made my way onto the 5th floor after ages of struggling up the stairs, trying not to let my suitcases bang into the walls on either sides of me. Once I opened the wooden doors to the hallway all I could smell was a mixture of rotten meat and lavender, it smelt like death. I guessed the tried to cover that horrible smell with lavender but it wasn't strong enough. Whatever smell that was , it was strong enough to pierce through anything in its path. I reckon I would get used to it, I mean I had to if I was going to stay here. I spent some time waking through the hallway trying to find my room.
Shit , shit , shit. I forgot the number. I know it was 50 something.
I walked back in my footsteps, trying to get to iris so she could remind me of my room number. But This place was like a maze, every turn I took I got more engulfed. I looked at the door numbers, I was around the 60s. I was trapped in this never ending maze. I got so annoyed and hit one of the walls, I don't know what took over me. It wasn't like me to act this way.

"Well If you keep making holes in the walls this place will never let you out."a cold voice spoke out which sent shivers down my spine.
I turned around to see a woman standing in the door frame of her room. She was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen , yet she was the most broken one too. Her eyes full of pain and sorrow. Her hair was blonde with dark brown roots showing , it was all cramped and parted to the side. She wore a black dress which complemented her every curve and showed not too much but not too little of her cleavage. Over her dress was a fluffy Leopard print coat and around her neck was a thick chocker with a silver heart in the middle. I must of been admiring her for a while because when my eyes met her face she has a small smirk, but it quickly went away when she realised I was looking at it. She brought a cigarette to her plump lips and took a drag before saying, "You look lost".
I snapped out of the chance she had me in and smiled.
"I am. I was trying to find my room but forgot the number. Then I was going to the reception but got lost. It's like a maze in here." I laughed off the embarrassment which was building up inside me , I can't believe she saw me like that. She took another hit of her cigarette and stepped closer to me , I could smell her sweet perfume.
"57" sally said , i could feel the warmth of her breath hit my face when she spoke. She was about an inch away from my face when she said it , i just stood there like i was frozen. I couldn't move , i didn't want to move. I wanted to stay like this forever. I was confused and i obviously did a terrible job hiding it because she carried on and explained herself.
"Your room number. It's 57."
"Yes ! I remember now , how did you know that ?" I questioned , I was happy that I finally knew what room to go to.
"I overheard iris telling you. I've got a good memory too." She joked and laughed at herself. I laughed too. The sight of her smile made me warm inside.
"Thank you , um. I don't know your name. Mine is (y/n) by the way." I finally got the confidence to talk to her.
"Sally. Sally McKenna." She said , I could feel the butterflies in my stomach.
She stood back from my face and carried on smoking.
"Well sally , it was nice meeting you and thank you for your help. I should get going now." I didn't want to leave. Something about her made me feel happy, made me feel like I was home. I turned around and made my way to my room , well tried to at least. I still didn't know the way back. I decided to be bold and turned back. My eyes met hers as she was still standing by her door way , watching me leave.
"Could you help me get back to my room ?" I asked as I laughed off the nerves, hoping she wouldn't see how nervous I was to talk to her. She just smiled and nodded her head.

I couldn't take my eyes off her as she walked up to me, she was so beautiful. Everything she did was done gracefully.
"You know (y/n), it's rude to stare" sally said playfully and the corners of her mouth curled up.
Fuck. She saw me staring. She must think I'm such a creep.
My eyes darted away from her as soon as she said it. I was so embarrassed, I could feel my checks turn red. She just laughed and lit another cigarette. She turned to me and looked me right in the eye and said
"I'm kidding, stare all you want. There. Number 57"
And pointed to the door , not far from it was my suitcases. She helped me bring them in and I thanked her. She was about to leave but I grabbed her wrist.
"Do you want to maybe get a drink at the bar upstairs?" I asked with hope that she would say yes.
"Sure" sally said as a small smirk crept onto her face.
"Okay cool, um. I'll just get into some new clothes and dry my hair. I will meet you there in 20 minutes." I was so happy.

As soon as she left I grabbed my hairdryer out of my suitcase and began to get ready. I decided to ware a blue dress which had small straps , it fitted every curve on my body. I did my make up and curled my a a little , put on high heels and I was ready to go. Until I stood in front of the Mirror in the room and took a good look at myself. My scars on my arm were showing and I didn't want sally to see them or explain to her why they are there, so I got a cardigan to cover them. Now I was ready.
