If Eli had one more booger covered child come up to her begging for a cupcake, she was going to lose her shit. It's been almost three hours since she showed up to her night shift at the bakery, and Eli was surprised she lasted that long without chucking a kid out through a window. She secretly wished Giddeon decided to open a bar instead of a bakery because the teen knew she'd rather handle nasty drunks than slobbering toddlers. She could also get away with punching a grown man without getting arrested or sued. The same couldn't be said for someone under the age of twelve.

The curly haired teen glanced at the cat shaped clock hanging over the archway of the door smiling at the sight of the time. She was hoping Phoebe would show up early for the night shift because the moment she arrived Eli could leave. She knew the college student was probably on her way over from her last lecture of the day. The hot-head remembering the one time Phoebe was complaining about her Philosophy class that was on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Eli always secretly loved the girl even if they typically spent their shared shifts in silence, but she does fondly remember the occasional nights the two talked bonded over their mutual love for alcohol and Robert Pattinson.

At the sound of the doorbell jingling, Eli shoot up from the stool she was sitting at. The girl spent the last forty five minutes in boredom waiting for Phoebe to show up since Monday nights were always dead at the bakery. Eli still didn't understand why Giddeon even bothered leaving the bakery open so late, but Eli didn't care. The college girl did in fact show up to her shift early and Eli can now leave and spend her night enjoying her weekly Monday mimosas. Which weren't actual mimosas. She just loved combining orange juice and club soda too much. It just made her happy seeing Giddeon's face every time she told him a little  white lie.

"Move along, buttercup, make way for me," Phoebe affectionately cooed out at the teen. Eli rolled her eyes at the nickname knowing the Powerpuff obsessed girl was having a good day by the sound of her cheery voice.

"What's made you so happy, princess," Eli called out as she made her to the backroom to grab her leather jacket and pack of cigarettes. The teen itching for a quick smoke before she officially left the bakery.

"I'm always happy," Phoebe shouted back as the pretty blonde made her way to the back room alongside Eli.

Eli raised her brow in question knowing the nineteen year old's default mood was complete disdain for the world, "You're a nineteen year old college student in thousands of dollars of debt who's closest companion is a dog and Friday night plans exclusively are kept to Marvel movie binges."

Phoebe scoffed at the girl's rebut, "Well, obviously someone is extra sassy today. But to answer your question, my closest companion being my bunny upgraded to a person."
