Kenzie's POV:

Peter called for a meeting. We were all in the room with the Stone table. I sat next to Edmund and leaned my head on his shoulder trying to pay attention and understand what they are talking about. I felt Ed's head on top of mine. It was a nice moment for us but it was ruined with Peter trying to be a king and doing his duties.

"It's only a matter of time. Miraz's men and war machines are on their way. That means those same men aren't protecting his castle." he told the Narnians.

"What do you propose we do, Sire?" Reepicheep asked.

"We-"

"Our-" Peter looked at Caspian.

"Our only hope is to strike them before they strike us." Peter said.

"But that's crazy, no one has ever taken that castle." Caspian stated.

It was like two little kids fighting over a candy bar. I decided to fiddle with my necklace that I forgot I still had from London. Edmund was focused on the conventions and it was kind of attentive of him nodding his head in agreement and looking really serious.

"We'll have the element of surprise." Trumpkin said.

"But we have the advantage here." Caspian said.

Susan steps forward, "If we dig in, we could probably hold them off indefinitely."

"I, for one, feel safer underground." Trufflehunter said.

Peter looks at Caspian, "Look, I appreciate what you've done, but this isn't a fortress, it's a tomb"

I agreed with Peter. Aslan did die here. I felt Edmund sitting up a bit, "Yes, and if the Telmarines are smart, they'll just starve us out."

"We could collect nuts!" a squirrel suggested. "Oh yes, and throw them at the Telmarines!" Reepicheep said, sarcastically. "Shut up!" he then turned to Peter, "I think you where I stand on this, Sire."

Peter turned to Glenstorm, "IIf I can get your troops in, can you handle the guards?"

"Or die trying, my liege."

"That's what I'm worried about." Lucy said.

"Sorry?" Peter asked.

"Well, you're all acting like there are only two options. Dying here, or dying there." She made a really good point. Peter seemed mad. "She's right." I said. Everyone turned to look at me,

"They have more numbers of soldiers than us. Peter, either way we'll probably get killed."

"I'm not sure you've really been listening, Lu and Mack."

Lucy was mad, "No, you're not listening. Or have you forgotten who really defeated the White Witch, Peter?"

"I think we've waited for Aslan long enough."

I had enough of this convention. I got up and walked out of the room for peace and quiet and I wanted to be alone for a while. I heard Edmund call my name but I just ignored it. I found a baloney and sat down looking out at the woods. It was peaceful there. I started thinking about the first time I met Edmund. When he didn't want to shake my hand. I smiled at the memories of Edmund and I. I felt someone sitting next to me.

"I knew you would be here." he said.

"How did you know I would be out here?" I asked Ed.

"Ken, I know a lot about you like when you're stressed or angry you leave the room and go outside. I came out here to check on you." he said.

I smiled. Wow, he really cares. I really never felt this way towards Edmund ever. I just thought of him as a friend. Now I think I'm in love with him. I just wish I knew if he felt the same way.

"Thanks for checking up on me, Eddie." I said.

He smiled, "I'm always here for you, Mickey." I blushed at the new nickname.

"By the way, we are doing a night raid tomorrow and Peter told me, you and I will partner up and give the signal." he told me.

I sighed, "Great. Hey can you teach me a little about sword fighting before the raid."

"Sure." it fell into a comfortable silence for a while.

"Mickey? Would you care to dance? I mean you will have to dance at the ball after the war probably and I'm not that great and I need some practice." He kept going on and on.

I smiled, "Yes Eddie. I would love to." Cutting him off. He blushed and turned into a red cherry.

(Can I have this dance is a good song for this part)

He held out his hand for me to grab. I intertwined my hand into his.. He pulls me closer to him. I felt my cheeks turn bright red. I put my arm on his shoulder. We started swaying back and forth. I then let go of his hand and put my arms around his neck and he put his arms around my waist. It was a sweet moment. I think I was falling in love with him even more. We danced for what felt like hours. I looked up at Edmund. He looked down at me and smiled. He leaned down like he was going to kiss me. I suddenly pulled away before he could do anything.

"I'm sorry." I said, then walked away.

"Mackenzie, wait." he called out. The first time in years has he ever called me by my real name. I went to my room and laid on my bed. I couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen. I just blew my chance with Edmund. Then before I knew it I was fast asleep.

Edmund's POV:

I watched her walk away. I called out for her but she didn't hear me. I replayed what just happened. I was about to kiss her. I started walking back to my room before I ran into someone.

"Sorry, Pete." I said.

He looked at me, "You're fine Ed. What's the matter? Why are you up so late?" he asked knowing something's up.

"Oh nothing. Just thinking. Goodnight." I said, quickly running into my room and closing the door. I laid on my bed. 'What if she doesn't feel the same way?' I thought. I knew Ken for a year now. She is beautiful and smart. I wish that I knew if she has the same feelings about me. I kept thinking the whole night then eventually fell asleep.

Word count: 1022 A/N: Okay sorry for making Edmund's POV a little short but I hope you like the new nickname Edmund calls Mackenzie. And they also kissed. See you in the next chapter.
