Kenzie's POV:

The Pevensies, the dwarf whose name I found out is Trumpkin, and I row down the stream. I was in the back with Edmund while Trumpkin was in the front and Peter is in the middle rowing. It was the first time since we arrived to be allowed to sit back and admire the view. It was a comfortable silence with everyone. I dipped my hand in the water. I got really close and almost fell in but someone's strong arms wrapped around me and pulled me back in my sit,

"Don't want to do that." Edmund whispered.

"I promise, I wasn't going to fall in, Ed." I told him.

He just looked at me, "Well, be careful please."

"When were you so good at sword fighting?" I asked him.

"Why were you that impressed?" he smirked.

"Well kind of. You were really good."

"I learned when we were at Aslan's camp training. I'm the best swordsman in Narnia." he told me.

"You should teach me sometime." I said, turning back to look at the clear water.

I noticed Lucy looking up at the trees, "They're so still."

"They're trees. What do you expect?" Trumpkin muttered.

"They used to dance." she said, giving a soft smile towards him.

He looked at her then to all of us, "It wasn't long after you left that the Telmarines invaded. Those that survived retreated to the woods. And the trees have retreated so deeply inside themselves that no one has heard from them since."

"I don't understand. How could Aslan have let this happen?" she asked, with a frown on her face.

"Aslan? I thought he abandoned us after you lot did."

Peter gave him a look, "We didn't mean to leave you know."

"Doesn't make much difference now, does it?"

"Get us to the Narnains and it will." he said, then continue to row.

I just looked at all the beauty around the place. I could get used to this. It's so peaceful and beautiful here. I turned around to see Edmund looking at me. He gave me a small smile and I gave him one in return. His beautiful, soft brown eyes met my blue ones. I quickly turned away and blushed a little. 'What is happening to me?" I thought. How could I have feelings for Ed. We're best friends, I can't think of him as anything else. I quickly forgot what I was thinking when we rowed the boat to shore.

We finally reach shore and we all climb out of the boat. Trumpkin and Peter were tying the boat down while I decided to explore a little. I walked up a hill and took in the view. I sat down on the grass and felt someone sitting down next to me.

"What are you doing up here all alone?"

"Just wanted to see the view, Ed." I said, turning to Edmund sitting next to me.

"Is it beautiful?" he asked, looking at me.

"Yes, I love it here."

He chuckled, "I think I like it here better than Flinchy."

"I agree. It's more peaceful here. No trains, cars, a huge war going on." I smiled.

"Hello there! It's alright, we're friends."

We both turned around to face the voice who said that. Lucy was talking to a bear. It roared and she screamed.

"Don't move, your majesty!" Trumpkin yelled, running over to the scene. Edmund and I got up and ran down to help.

"Lucy!" I yelled and went to her. She tripped over her dress and we both fell down. I was hugging Lucy really tight so she wouldn't be the one getting hurt.

"Stay away from her!" Susan yelled, aiming her bow towards the bear.

"Susan, shoot!" Edmund yelled in concern.

The bear got closer then an arrow hit the bear and it fell over. Everyone looked to see who shot the bear. Trumpkin. The Pevenise siblings and Trumpkin came over to us.

"Why wouldn't he stop?" Susan asked.

"I expect he was hungry." Trumpkin says.

Peter helped Lucy up and hugged her into his chest, crying. Edmund ran over to me and pulled me into his chest, "I thought I was going to lose you." he whispered. I looked up at him, "You know you can't get rid of me that easy." his brown chocolate eyes met mine. He then pulled me back into his chest.

"He was wild." Edmund said.

"I don't think he could talk at all." Peter added.

"Get treated like a dumb animal long enough and that's what you become." Trumpkin told them, taking out his knife. Edmund kept me in his arms a little long as we watched Trumpkin cutting the animal,

"You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember."
