August walked down the hallways in silence. He wasn't there to make new friends; he was there for his single purpose.
He sat down in the back of the room without a word. He gave the occasional smile at students that walked by, but he was too focused on finding her. He unzipped his jacket pocket and pulled out a picture of Sarah.
"Where are you?" he muttered to himself. It was difficult to find her while only seeing the backs of people's heads. Thankfully, for him, the teacher began to speak.
"Alright, class," the teacher called out, "settle down. Now, this seems like an odd time for a new student, but this young lady recently was moved up a grade. Please introduce yourself." The teacher gestured towards a girl.
Slowly, the girl stood up and said, "Uh, hi everyone. I'm Sarah Lang."
There she was: one of the Langs that framed his father. August instinctively curled his fingers into fists underneath the table. Sarah quickly sat back down, and August released his fists.
"Oh," the teacher added, "I almost forgot that we have another new student joining us!" She gestured towards August. "Why don't you introduce yourself?"
August stood up in the back of the room and look around at everyone. He threw on a smile and said, "Hello, everyone, my name is August Cro--"
Nope! Can't say that. Sarah would definitely recognize the last name. "August Clark."
Everyone greeted him in a similar fashion to Sarah. He looked around and locked eyes with Sarah. He took a good long look into her eyes, trying to hide the anger rising in his face. He wasn't expecting a kid his age to be what his dad hated the most. Instead, he gave a smirk to her and sat down.
He couldn't hurt her, not yet. It wouldn't feel right. No, he needed to make her feel pain, to make them all feel pain.
But how?

Sarah stood in front of her locker, turning the combination to unlock it. She emptied out her backpack into the locker and slammed it shut.
She jumped when she saw that a boy was standing right behind the door of her locker. She gave a nervous smile and said, "Hi."
Wait... she recognized him...
Of course! The new kid, August.
August smirked and said, "Hey. How's your first day going?"
Sarah eased up, shrugged, and continued to walk and talk, August walking next to her. "Alright, I guess. Just trying to get adjusted to sophomore life. You?"
He shrugged as well. "Not too bad. My old school was horrible. Bad teachers, bad classmates. I'm glad to be here."
Sarah smiled and continued to walk to her class. August stayed next to her and asked, "Hey, I was wondering if you and I could eat lunch together, seeing as we're the new kids and all."
Sarah stopped and turned to August. "That would be great, thanks!" She checked one of the clocks in the hallway. "Oh, geez! I'm gonna be late! I'll see you at lunch!"
August checked the clock, too. "Oh, gosh! Yeah, I need to get going. See you then!"
Sarah smiled and practically ran to her next class. She was able to step into the classroom before the bell rang. Her second-period teacher looked at her stone-faced and said, "Sarah Lang, correct?" Sarah nodded quickly as she looked around for a seat. Her teacher simply sighed and checked her off the list.
She found a seat next to River. As she unpacked her bag, River whispered to her, "Geez, what took you so long? Mr. Bollock is not someone who accepts you being even one second late."
"Yeah," Sarah said slightly out of breath, "but August wanted to talk to me."
River leaned closer to Sarah before whispering even quieter, "To be honest, I don't trust that kid. He seems familiar, and not in a good way."
Sarah shrugged as she opened up her notebook and took out a pencil for notes. "He doesn't seem too bad. He's pretty nice and offered to eat lunch with me so we could get to know each other."
River opened their notebook, as well. "That's alright, I guess. I'm going to keep my eye on him, though. He just rubs me the wrong way."
"I'll keep that in mind." Sarah smiled at them as the two of them focused on taking notes.

Darren sat in his cell, watching the clock tick in his cell. Time seemed to stand still when he had nothing to do. But, he knew his plan was already in motion.
He didn't like lying to his son about being framed, but how else was he supposed to get him on his side? How else was he able to get his revenge while stuck in a cell?
One day, he would tell August the truth. But, for now, all he could do was wait...
