His footsteps rang through the house, his heart beating softly as he went to the first route, second route, third route and then turned around. "Nope,Nope,Nope,I am so done with all of these moving mannequins and dolls," he thought to himself, going back to the starting point while leaning on the wall and looking at the shadow like mannequins and calming down. Sucking in a deep breath to face the millionth horror of the night,Poe went back to the third route, seeing the plush cat with stitches closed eyes staring at the canvas in front of it,its head swaying. He walked over to the plush cat and looked at the blank canvas, getting used to seeing the painting with just a few words scribbled on. As he squinted his eyes,he hopped to the side after reading whatever that was written on there. 'Your never alone,I'm always here for you'. As sweet as it sounded,it did not feel safe at all when he was in a room with a single hallway and a dark room where he can't enter as if it was some video game, stuck in the room with a moving mannequin that looked just like his late partner. About to make a turn and scramble out to the starting point to have another anxiety Attack, the writer practically lost his voice when he accidentally glanced out the window. Poe slumped himself on the wall as he buried his head in his hands, his eyes averting themselves away from the window. Right outside was the mannequin he kept on seeing, only this time his eyes were open, shining a bright blood red, more stitches had appeared from the last time, his arms, strands of hair and this time his mouth was stitched, making him look more and more like a doll. His gaze was so piercing, reminding him so much of the raven's ability,it looked so different though, more looking as if it wanted revenge for whatever he didn't know,he didn't want to think at that moment it only scared him even more. Pushing all of his thoughts to the back of his mind,he leapt out of the route, turning to the corner and falling to his knees when he saw another mannequin of the detective in front of him, standing on a box and just hopping to the beat of the circus music like a child. He was confused, his mind was confused, his heart was confused,he didn't now how to feel anymore. Wether to be happy or absolutely terrified whenever he saw Not Ranpo. Blinking,he realised the aura around the mannequin was different than the one outside the window. The one outside had its eyes open,a deep scarlet red but the one in front of him right now had its eyes closed like the normal Ranpo, looking more lighthearted than before. Nevertheless the stitches still scared him as he watched a doll version of his lover hip along with the circus melody that rung through the hall. Tilting his head, the brunet looked over to where Not Ranpo was looking, too used to looking for clues from where they were staring at. He tried messing with the radio of the shelf the raven was looking at,putting it back when nothing happened. Sighing to himself,he reluctantly parted himself from the mannequin and went to the starting point to see if anything had changed.
...
Poe jumped back, screeching in horror when he saw the mannequin in the dark room, staring back at him, this one had the dark aura not like the one he saw hopping along to the music like the childish man he was. The doll in front of him had his eyes open with another wave of red, stitches now on his eyes and thighs, trailing down to his ankle like an actual doll instead of the snack loving person he recognised. He winced as his hearing got sharper, radio static being the only thing he could hear and his vision got blurry only focusing on the raven in front of him.
It stopped.
His vision got better and his hearing went back to normal. The detective looking mannequin was gone. Getting himself off the wall, the violet eyed gasped for air, releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding as sweat spilled down his forehead. Never in his life would he think Ranpo would look so...terrifying. Though it wasn't him,it was a mannequin version of him and he didn't want to see it ever again. His world seemed to glitch out for a second, his mind aching when he got back to his senses, taking another deep breath to regain his thoughts. Shaking his head and pretending the horror he saw was an illusion, the author limped over to the hallway again, making another round around it before going back to the starting point. There was nothing new,the canvas was still empty and there was nothing outside the window, though the hopping mannequin of the candy lover was still there. Rubbing his head,he decided to face the cold hard truth that the red eyed mannequin really did appear right in front of his eyes. Knowing that every mannequin Ranpo would give him some sort of clue, scary or not. Stalking towards the dark room he still couldn't enter,he stared at the white canvas on the wall beside it,scowling in fear when more words appeared on the blank canvas. 'We are there' it scared him,no matter how many horror novels he wrote,he would never get used to eerie words like those. Stumbling back to the wall,he sighed as he remembered he'd have to go through the hallway again to see whatever Not Ranpo had in store for him. Feeling the exhaustion rolling over him,he dragged himself off the wall and to the start of the hallway.
"Thud!"
He screamed in terror as the cat plush with stitches eyes ran past him into the second route. Shit, couldn't he back out now?
